Early this morning (May 18th), PSG played away at Paris FC in their final Ligue 1 match of the 2025/26 season. This was also PSG's first match after officially winning the championship on May 14th, thanks to their victory against Lens in the rescheduled match of round 29.
Despite it being a formality, coach Luis Enrique still fielded his strongest lineup with prominent names like Vitinha, Dembele, Kvaratskhelia, and Barcola... Despite possessing superior strength and class, PSG had to wait until the 50th minute to open the scoring thanks to a goal from Barcola.
However, Luis Enrique's team ultimately lost 1-2 on the day they received the championship trophy, after conceding goals in quick succession in the 76th and 90+4th minutes. Gory scored both goals for the home team.
Speaking after the match, coach Luis Enrique admitted this was PSG's worst performance under his tenure. Not only did they lose their final match before the Champions League final against Arsenal on May 30th, but PSG also face the risk of further injury to Dembele. Dembele was forced to leave the field in the 27th minute, replaced by Ramos, due to a problem.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, coach Luis Enrique said: “How is Dembele? I can’t say anything about Ousmane right now. We have to wait until tomorrow. I think it’s just a minor injury. Everything we can say today is just speculation. I hope Dembele’s condition isn’t serious. We’ll know more tomorrow.”
According to French media, Dembele will undergo further tests today to determine the exact extent of his injury. PSG fans are eagerly awaiting the results, hoping that the team's star player will recover in time for the Champions League final against Arsenal in Budapest, Hungary.
