Admission scores for the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City have increased sharply.

On the evening of August 17th, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) officially announced the cutoff scores and results of the admission methods for the 50th cohort of its regular undergraduate program in 2024.

The average admission scores for 2024 are expected to increase significantly.

The recently announced admission scores for UEH have increased across all admission methods at both the Ho Chi Minh City campus and the Vinh Long branch.

In 2024, UEH implemented 6 admission methods, including:

Method 1: Direct admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training ;

Method 2: Admission based on candidates who have graduated from a foreign high school program and possess an international certificate;

Method 3: Selection based on academic excellence;

Method 4: Admission based on academic performance according to subject combinations;

Method 5: Admission based on the results of the aptitude test;

Method 6: Admission based on the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam.

Accordingly, the cut-off scores for 56 training programs in Ho Chi Minh City have increased significantly compared to 2023.

Specifically, the cutoff scores for method 3 range from 48 to 83; method 4 from 49 to 85 points; method 5 from 800 to 995; and from 23.8 to 27.2 points for the method based on high school graduation exam results.

The ASEAN Co-op Bachelor's Program and the Talented Bachelor's Program have admission scores of 72-73 points (methods 3 and 4) and 25.3-27.15 points (method 6). This score range corresponds to candidates with excellent academic performance or higher, possessing international English certificates equivalent to IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 73 or higher, mostly students from specialized schools or top-performing students at the provincial/city level.

At UEH - Vinh Long, the score ranges for methods 3 and 4 are 49 and 40 respectively (an increase of 1-8 points compared to 2023); method 5 is 550-650 (an increase of 50 points); notably, in method 6, which uses high school graduation exam results for admission, the admission score range increased significantly by 1-5 points, fluctuating between 17-22 points.

Associate Professor Bui Quang Hung - Deputy Director of UEH - said: "Up to now, the traditional majors at the UEH Vinh Long campus have filled all their quotas, with applicants having academic results of excellent or higher registering for admission."

In addition, UEH Vinh Long will continue to conduct supplementary admissions for new majors offered in recent years such as taxation, technology and innovation, robotics and artificial intelligence (engineering program), agricultural business, hotel management, etc., with a quota of 10-25 for each training program.

The official announcement regarding supplementary admissions will be posted on the admissions portal https://tuyensinh.ueh.edu.vn after the enrollment period.

Over 1,000 entrance scholarships are available for talented, underprivileged students with a passion for technology.

Also on this occasion, UEH is offering more than 1,000 scholarships and interest rate subsidies for new students participating in the student loan program.

Accordingly, UEH is awarding 791 scholarships to outstanding candidates with high entrance exam scores and those from disadvantaged backgrounds, contributing to sharing and encouraging all candidates from different regions and circumstances.

Specifically, 626 scholarships are available for new students admitted with high scores. Of these, 570 scholarships are at the Ho Chi Minh City campus, including 50 excellent scholarships, 170 full scholarships, and 350 partial scholarships.

At the Vinh Long campus: 56 scholarships were awarded, including 5 outstanding scholarships, 15 full scholarships, and 36 partial scholarships.

UEH also offers 165 scholarships to support new students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Specifically, at the Ho Chi Minh City campus: 150 scholarships (50 full scholarships and 100 partial scholarships); at the Vinh Long campus: 15 scholarships (5 full scholarships and 10 partial scholarships).

In addition, there are scholarships available for students pursuing technology programs.

At its Ho Chi Minh City campus, UEH awards scholarships to 50% of students admitted to new training programs in the fields of computer science, information technology, and engineering technology. This includes 50% full scholarships and 50% partial scholarships.

At the Vinh Long campus, UEH awards priority scholarships for three programs: Technology and Innovation, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (Engineering level), and Agricultural Business.

At the same time, 100% of students with household registration in the Mekong Delta region studying the three training programs in Technology and Innovation, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (engineering level), and Agricultural Business will receive a scholarship covering 100% of the tuition fee for the first semester (for students meeting the admission criteria with excellent grades), and 50% of the tuition fee for the first semester (for other students with household registration in the Mekong Delta).
