Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, is one of the leading engineering schools in the country.
In addition to direct admission according to regulations, the school reserves 95-99% of its quotas for the comprehensive admission method, which is based on a combination of academic performance, achievements in arts and sports, and priority points (if any).
In this system, academic performance (accounting for at least 80%) includes results from aptitude tests, school transcripts, and the high school graduation exam, with the following formula:
Academic Performance Score = Aptitude Score × 70% + Converted High School Graduation Score × 20% + Converted High School Academic Score × 10%
This is a unique scoring method in university entrance exams over the past several years.

According to Associate Professor Bui Hoai Thang, Head of the Training Department of the school, because there is only one main method, the school does not convert equivalent scores from other exams or calculate differences in subject combinations.
According to the formula above, the two factors that greatly influence the school's admission score are the scores from the National University of Ho Chi Minh City's aptitude test and the high school graduation exam.
Over the past three years, the entrance exam scores for the University of Technology have consistently been among the top in the South of Vietnam and the country as a whole. In particular, the Computer Science major (standard program) has an admission score close to 90 points. The admission scores for this major in 2022, 2024, and 2024 were 86.3, 86.9, and 86.7 points respectively.
The following is a breakdown of the admission scores for Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology over the past three years:

According to initial predictions, the 2025 admission cutoff scores for Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology may decrease compared to last year, due to lower scores in many subjects in the high school graduation exam and changes in the admission formula.
