List of U23 Vietnam's opponents at the 2026 AFC U23 Championship

On the evening of September 9, at Viet Tri Stadium, U23 Vietnam defeated U23 Yemen with a score of 0-1 in the final match of Group C. Thereby, the "golden star warriors" won a ticket to the U23 Asian finals for the 6th consecutive time.

The only goal of the match was scored by Thanh Nhan. Meanwhile, U23 Yemen finished second in Group C, with 6 points and a goal difference of +1. However, that was not enough for the West Asian team to qualify for the next round.

Also in the final round of qualifying, the teams that have qualified for the finals were revealed. In Group A, U23 Jordan showed their superior strength when they defeated U23 Turkmenistan 2-1, winning a ticket to the finals with 9 absolute points. On the contrary, Turkmenistan stopped despite having 6 points, due to a goal difference of only +5.

Group B witnessed a devastating performance from U23 Japan. They crushed U23 Kuwait 6-1 to win all 3 matches, thereby qualifying for Saudi Arabia in January 2026.

In Group D, the draw between U23 Australia and U23 China helped both teams secure tickets. U23 Australia topped the group with 7 points, while U23 China entered the group of 4 best second-placed teams.

A similar situation occurred in Group E when U23 Kyrgyzstan and U23 Uzbekistan both won in the final round to finish with 7 points, just enough to qualify for the final round. Group F also ended with an identical scenario when U23 Thailand and U23 Lebanon both had 7 points and won the right to continue. Thailand became the second representative of Southeast Asia, after Vietnam, to get a ticket to Saudi Arabia.

1 point against U23 Cambodia helped U23 Iraq maintain the top position in Group G with 7 points. In Group H, U23 Qatar beat Bahrain 2-1 in the decisive match, thereby winning all 9 points. In Group J and K, U23 Korea and U23 Syria respectively defeated U23 Indonesia and U23 Tajikistan to confirm their position as the number one in the group, winning all 3 matches.

In addition, host U23 Saudi Arabia is automatically present in the Final Round as the host country.
