According to the announcement in early 2025 by The Outbox Company, a pioneering market research and data analysis company focusing on the tourism and hospitality sector in Asia, Da Nang is the most prominent domestic destination in 2024 with a tourist preference rate of 21.6%, nearly 3 times higher than other destinations in the top 3 such as Hanoi or Da Lat.

The ranking is based on data from the monthly data tracking model focusing on Vietnamese tourists “Vietnam Travel-Focused Omnibus Survey”, through direct surveys of more than 4,500 Vietnamese tourists continuously throughout 2024.

Data from Agoda (a company specializing in providing popular online booking applications in the world ) shows that American tourists searched for information about Da Nang tourism the most in January 2025, surpassing Tokyo (Japan) and Bangkok (Thailand). The number of searches from American tourists about Da Nang increased dramatically by 1,538% compared to the same period in 2024, this is the most impressive growth among the top destinations searched on Agoda.

Da Nang was also listed in the list of 10 culinary destinations to visit in 2025 by Michelin Guide, along with cities around the world such as Austin and Miami (USA), Mexico City (Mexico), Amsterdam (Netherlands), Bangkok (Thailand), Fujian (China), Osaka (Japan), Bath (UK) and Vienna (Austria). The World Golf Tourism Association awarded the title "Da Nang - Outstanding Contribution to Golf Tourism" to Da Nang Golf Destination, recognizing its outstanding contributions to the development of golf tourism. According to the report of the Department of Tourism, in the first 3 months of 2025, the total number of guests served by accommodation establishments is estimated at more than 2.53 million, an increase of 19.2%; of which international visitors reached 1.26 million, an increase of 42.1% compared to 2024, domestic visitors reached 1.26 million, an increase of 2.7%. Revenue from accommodation and catering services is estimated at VND 7,393 billion, an increase of 21.1% over the same period in 2024; revenue from tourism services (after deducting expenses) in the first 3 months of 2025 reached more than VND 839 billion, an increase of 20%.

Create conditions for tourism development

According to the Department of Tourism, the city is implementing plans and orientations for key tourism development according to the roadmap: Da Nang city tourism development plan in 2025; night-time economic development plan, inland waterway tourism development plan, culinary development plan into tourism products and key projects and plans approved by the city according to the roadmap...

Thanks to that, in addition to traditional tourist markets, the city is taking the lead in the Russian, Eastern European, and Middle Eastern tourist markets through the development of a series of high-end resorts and hotels in My Khe beach, Non Nuoc beach, Son Tra peninsula; tourist destinations such as Ngu Hanh Son, Ba Na Hills; high-end golf courses such as Legend Danang Golf Resort, Ba Na Hills Golf Club, Montgomerie Links Golf Club. The city continues to issue policies and plans to guide tourism development, the latest being the plan to develop medical tourism in the city for the period 2025-2030, with a vision to 2050.
