To boost the morale of people on their journey back home, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Long An ward, Tay Ninh province, along with political and social organizations, and with the support of La Vie Co., Ltd. and philanthropists, organized a "Compassionate Rest Stop," providing free drinks and snacks to travelers.
From early morning, youth union members, women's association members, and farmers were present to transport and carefully prepare bottled water and pastries, handing them directly to the people, hoping to help them alleviate fatigue and continue their journey safely, enjoying the full joy of reunion.
Ms. Tran Thi Phuong Uyen, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Long An Ward and Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Long An Ward, shared: “On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and political and social organizations of Long An Ward mobilized approximately 5,000 bottles of water and 300 portions of cakes to support people on their way back to their hometowns. We hope to contribute a small part and accompany the people during the Independence Day holiday.”
Beyond simply sharing material things, these small gifts also contain the heartfelt sentiments of the entire community, sent to those who are far from home.
Huynh Hoai Vu, Secretary of the Youth Union of Binh Cu 1 neighborhood, Long An ward, expressed: “Although the weather was unfavorable this morning with heavy rain, all forces were ready. The water and bread may not be of great monetary value, but they represent the heartfelt gesture we want to convey to the people.”
For the locals, each bottle of water and each piece of bread on their long journey brings joy and motivation. Ms. Banh Thi Kim Co (from An Giang province) said: “I started my journey home at 6 am, and the distance is quite far, so seeing these points distributing water and bread along the way makes me very happy and warm-hearted. Seeing the young people standing in the rain, handing out the supplies to passersby, I feel the kindness and concern that the local authorities have for the people.”
Reportedly, the program will distribute 300 cases of La Vie bottled water and 600 pastries to residents in two phases: on August 30th and the afternoon of September 2nd at the intersection of the National Highway 1 bypass and Hung Vuong (extended) road, with a total cost of over 30 million VND.
"The 'Stopover of Compassion' has become a familiar destination, providing energy to people returning home for holidays and festivals. With heartfelt generosity, Tay Ninh once again accompanies its people, creating truly fulfilling holiday experiences."
