In recent years, digital technology has been developing strongly, especially in the agricultural sector. Digital transformation is not only an inevitable trend but also an urgent requirement to improve productivity, quality and efficiency in agricultural production. In particular, the application of new technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), big data and blockchain not only helps optimize production processes, improve product quality, reduce costs but also opens up opportunities to connect markets, increase product value and protect the environment.

According to the report of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, with more than 80% of agricultural land area (equivalent to 297,000 hectares) and more than 65% of rural laborers, An Giang farmers have a lot of practical experience in cultivation and application of scientific and technological advances in production. An Giang province has applied many smart irrigation technologies combined with fertilization, helping to reduce the amount of fertilizers, pesticides, and labor. These models are widely deployed in farming households and crop cooperatives, mainly in large-scale planting areas. Currently, the whole province of An Giang has issued 514 codes, with a total planting area of nearly 18,000 hectares. Of which, rice has 163 codes with an area of 9,623 hectares, fruit trees have 339 codes with an area of 7,639 hectares, vegetables have 10 codes with an area of 74 hectares and 2 codes for medicinal plants on an area of 2 hectares.

At the forum, experts, scientists, and businesses shared experiences, knowledge, and specific solutions on digital transformation in agriculture, as well as updated experiences and knowledge on digital transformation in agriculture. Thereby, finding creative, practical solutions to develop a smart, modern, efficient, and sustainable agriculture.
