As a crucial "bridge" in consolidating and promoting the strength of national unity, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Son Nam Ward consistently plays a core role in patriotic emulation movements, actively mobilizing the people to build a civilized life, participate in environmental protection, maintain security and order, and effectively respond to the "National Unity for Building New Rural Areas and Civilized Urban Areas" campaign. With the motto "using the people's strength to care for the people," based on its assigned functions and tasks, the Fatherland Front Committee of the ward has effectively implemented propaganda work, focusing on disseminating the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws and regulations. Simultaneously, it has organized and implemented various emulation movements and campaigns linked to socio-economic development, thereby attracting a large number of cadres, members, and people from all walks of life to actively participate. Thanks to the consensus and joint efforts of the entire population, the movement to build a cultured way of life has become increasingly profound. To date, the percentage of residential areas recognized as cultured residential areas has reached 75%, cultured families have reached 94%, the percentage of people participating in health insurance has reached 98%, and the percentage of households using clean and hygienic water has reached 98%.
In Tan My 1 residential area, the movement to donate land for road construction has spread widely, with many roads being upgraded, renovated, and expanded thanks to the unanimous support of the local people. Since the beginning of the year, more than 50 households in the residential area have voluntarily donated over 1,300 square meters of residential and agricultural land, and dismantled auxiliary structures, fences, and gates to facilitate the construction of roads. The policy is correct, the goals are clear, the approach is flexible, and many exemplary officials and Party members have taken the lead in land clearance and encouraged their relatives to participate, creating a widespread impact in the community. After being informed and persuaded, Mr. Pham Van Tinh's family voluntarily demolished their fence and donated over 50 square meters of residential land to widen the road in front of their house. Mr. Tinh said: "After being informed by the residential area officials about the policy of donating land for road construction, my family wholeheartedly agreed and supported it." Recognizing that the road expansion would benefit the local residents, I voluntarily donated my land to facilitate the road construction.
In social welfare work, every year, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward and other mass organizations actively mobilize all strata of the people to respond to the patriotic emulation movement, contributing to the "For the Poor" Fund, creating resources to work with the State to effectively implement sustainable poverty reduction policies. From the "For the Poor" Fund and other socialized sources, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward has coordinated with mass organizations and philanthropists to organize many practical activities such as: supporting the construction and repair of 18 solidarity houses for poor households, supporting livelihoods, medical examinations and treatment for the poor, supporting poor students to overcome difficulties and excel in their studies, mobilizing support for people affected by natural disasters with an amount of more than 260 million VND... With these meaningful actions and timely implementation of social welfare policies, the number of poor households according to the new criteria has decreased to 0.26%, the material and spiritual lives of the people are increasingly improved, and the appearance of the homeland is constantly changing. With over 80 million VND in financial and social contributions to help repair their house, Mr. Nguyen Van Luoc's family in Hong Chau residential area completed and handed over their new home at the end of 2024. Mr. Luoc shared: "Thanks to the care and assistance of the local government and benefactors, I have a warm and comfortable place to live, allowing me to enjoy my old age in peace. Now, the roof is no longer leaking, and my life is much more stable than before."
Comrade Nguyen Thi Que, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward, said: In the coming time, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward will continue to innovate the content and methods of its activities in a practical and effective direction, closely adhering to the grassroots. The focus will be on promoting propaganda and mobilizing the people to effectively implement patriotic emulation movements and major campaigns associated with building a civilized urban area, ensuring social security, and improving the quality of life for the people. At the same time, it will effectively mobilize social resources and encourage the people to work together to build a more prosperous, beautiful, civilized, and sustainable locality.
Building on the achievements already made, the Party Committee, government, and people of the ward are determined to continue to successfully implement socio-economic development goals, build an increasingly civilized and modern urban area, and gradually affirm its position as a shining example in the province's emulation movements.
