The Venice Film Festival organizers confirmed to the press that Gabriel Guevara was arrested on sexual assault charges. The teen idol has no connection to the Venice Film Festival, according to Variety .
Gabriel Guevara (22 years old) arrived in Venice on September 2nd and publicly acknowledged his participation in the Venice Film Festival in several Instagram posts. The actor was supposed to receive an award called the Italian Cinematography Award, presented alongside the festival, an award unrelated to the Venice Film Festival itself.

Gabriel Guevara is wanted internationally on charges of sexual assault in France. His arrest, which took place in Venice on September 2nd, was initially reported by the Venetian daily newspaper La Nuova Venezia . Guevara's representatives declined to comment on the matter.
The Venice Court of Appeal will now have to rule on Guevara's case before he can be extradited. The actor is currently under protection. The exact charges against him have not been released.
