Construction of the Independence Palace began on July 1, 1962, on a site of approximately 12 hectares. Nearly 100 rooms were designed and decorated individually according to their function, creating a space that is both luxurious and steeped in history.

During the electric tram tour of the Palace, visitors are introduced by guides to its history, the exhibition spaces, and the memories of a glorious era. They learn about the cannons, tanks, radios, military Jeeps, and hand-drawn battle maps… all carefully preserved and proudly displayed. Each artifact tells a story, not only recalling history but also evoking pride in every Vietnamese person.

Amidst the bustling life of downtown Ho Chi Minh City, the Independence Palace stands out as a "green oasis" with its shady ancient trees, spacious and peaceful atmosphere.

The Independence Palace, commissioned by President Ngo Dinh Diem on July 1, 1962, comprises three main floors, two mezzanines, a ground floor, two basements, and a rooftop (with a helipad). Spanning approximately 12 hectares, the nearly 100 rooms are individually designed and decorated according to their function, exuding both luxury and historical significance.
