In the exciting atmosphere leading up to the congress, union officials, union members and workers in the province have placed their trust and expectations in the new decisions and directions that the congress will set out.

Faith and expectation

Looking back over the past 5 years, under the leadership of the Party, the people's lives, including the labor force in Dong Nai, have clearly improved, social security has been ensured. In addition, the implementation of resolutions and policies has been brought into the actual lives of workers in industrial zones. Union officials, union members, and workers highly appreciate the province's outstanding achievements in socio -economic development, administrative reform, and job and income stability of workers in the province. These results have strengthened the workers' trust in the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee.

Looking forward to the Provincial Party Congress, union members and workers have placed great trust and expectation in strong, breakthrough decisions to promote economic development and improve workers' lives. This includes increasing wages, social welfare, ensuring jobs, a safe and equal working environment. Many officials and union members believe that, under the leadership of the Party, Dong Nai province will continue to develop stably and strongly and the role of workers will be increasingly affirmed.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Chi, Chairwoman of the Trade Union of New Apparel Far Eastern Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Dong Phu commune, Dong Nai province) said: She completely agrees and believes in the orientations and policies that the Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term will put forth. This will be an important foundation for Dong Nai to continue to develop strongly, maintaining its role as the leading economic-industrial center of the country. As an organization representing the voice of workers, she and the collective of workers expect practical and specific policies to improve the quality of life of workers, especially in the context of increasing market prices.

According to Ms. Mai Chi, strengthening training and updating knowledge for union officials and managers at the grassroots level is also very important. “When fully equipped with knowledge and skills, union officials will advise and support workers more effectively, helping to better connect workers with the policies and guidelines of the Party and the State. I believe that with the attention and listening from the provincial leaders, along with the active support of the union organization, the lives of workers in Dong Nai will be increasingly improved, contributing to the sustainable development of the province,” Ms. Mai Chi shared.

Many issues related to social security are also of special concern to workers. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang, a worker at Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park, Tran Bien Ward, said: Currently, the salary of workers is still low compared to the minimum living standard. In addition, the problem of enterprises owing social insurance to workers still exists. Therefore, workers hope that the province will have solutions to ensure the rights of workers. The State needs to pay attention to adjusting the regional minimum wage to match the current cost of living.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, a party member and worker at May Pacific Joint Stock Company (Dau Giay Commune, Dong Nai Province) shared: “We believe that the Dong Nai Provincial Party Congress will have strong policies to improve employment and income for workers. We are always united and strive to contribute to the socio-economic development of the province.”

Creating breakthroughs in social housing and schools

A survey by the Dong Nai Provincial Labor Federation on the housing needs of workers in the province is estimated to reach 450,000 people by 2025, while the number of social housing is currently very limited, creating a large gap that needs to be resolved in the coming time. Therefore, most workers expect the province to speed up the construction of social housing, supporting workers to rent or buy at preferential prices to settle down and stay attached to the locality.

Ms. Le Thuy Hanh, a worker in Long Binh ward, Dong Nai province, said: Currently, with a salary of about 8 million VND/month, her family only has enough to spend, so the opportunity to buy or rent social housing is increasingly difficult. To support workers to easily access social housing, it is necessary for the locality to pay attention to creating favorable conditions in procedures as well as easy access to low-interest loans with longer repayment periods.

Mr. Dinh Sy Phuc, Chairman of the Trade Union of TKG Taekwang Vina Joint Stock Company (Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park, Tran Bien Ward) said: With its favorable geographical location, Dong Nai is expected to continue to be the leading province in the region in terms of industry, logistics, transportation, urban development, etc. Regional connectivity, infrastructure development, especially Long Thanh airport, are considered important factors to promote strong growth. Accordingly, the demand for labor will increase. To attract human resources, social security issues need to be given more attention.

Specifically, develop more schools for workers' children, especially in densely populated industrial zones. In addition, support policies for purchasing social housing, so that workers have the opportunity to stabilize their accommodation and work long-term in the province. In particular, build cultural institutions for workers to improve their spiritual life. This is a very large and practical need. "Union officials and union members in the province are placing their trust in the Provincial Party Congress to propose wise, breakthrough decisions that are close to the lives of workers" - Mr. Phuc shared.
