Among these, there are about 15–20 agarwood trees, 70–90 years old, thriving with lush branches and leaves. These trees are mostly planted in home gardens and farms, averaging 15 to over 20 meters in height, with trunks so large that it takes two people to encircle them.

Recently, many traders from within and outside the province have come to offer prices and persuade the locals to sell the trees. Some trees have been offered as much as 250-300 million VND, but the locals still haven't sold them.

Phuc Trach commune was formed from three communes: Huong Lien, Huong Trach, and Phuc Trach. It is the largest and most famous locality in Ha Tinh province in terms of its tradition of planting, harvesting, and processing agarwood trees.

For many years, agarwood has been the main crop, helping people develop their economy , increase their income, improve their living standards, and achieve sustainable wealth. Currently, the total area planted with agarwood in the commune reaches nearly 1,000 hectares.

Through research and surveys conducted by specialized agencies, the quality of agarwood trees and agarwood products in Phuc Trach is highly regarded; many products have been recognized as achieving OCOP 3-star standards at the provincial level.

Total revenue from agarwood trees and processing activities in the commune is estimated at 100-200 billion VND per year. In the future, the local authorities hope that businesses and local people will invest in collecting and transporting ancient agarwood trees for planting, preservation, and concentrated development, forming an agarwood cultural space.

Simultaneously, the commune continues to encourage the expansion of cultivation areas, the application of science and technology, and the promotion of deep processing to enhance the value of agarwood trees.

Building on its foundation of quality and brand reputation, Phuc Trach is gradually shifting from selling raw timber to processing value-added products such as agarwood incense sticks, agarwood chips, pure agarwood incense, agarwood ornaments, agarwood essential oils, handicrafts, jewelry, etc., progressively expanding its domestic and export markets.
