At the ceremony, representatives from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism presented the Certificate recognizing the Pà Thẻn people's fire-jumping ritual as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage to the leaders of Lâm Bình district.
The Pà Thẻn people's fire dance is one of the oldest traditional festivals in Hồng Quang commune (Lâm Bình district) and is held once a year.
Traditionally, at the end of September and beginning of October each year, right when the rice harvest is complete, the Pà Thẻn people in Lâm Bình district hold their traditional fire-jumping festival.
This is a beautiful aspect of the spiritual and cultural life of the Pà Thẻn people. For the Pà Thẻn, the highest deity is the Fire God, because fire brings them good fortune and prosperity.
The Department of Heritage, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, awarded the Certificate for the Fire Dance Ceremony of the Pà Thẻn people in Hồng Quang commune, Lâm Bình district, Tuyên Quang province.
