Saudi Arabian football is preparing for a major transfer of power, as the three giants Al-Nassr, Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad will no longer be directly controlled by the Public Investment Fund (PIF).

Saudi Arabian football promises big changes.

The information was revealed by media expert Mohammed Al-Bukairy, promising to create a remarkable turning point for Cristiano Ronaldo and Saudi Arabian football.

Under the plan, 75% ownership of Al-Nassr will be transferred to Riyadh Air. Similarly, Al-Ittihad will fall into the hands of Jeddah Central Development Company (JCDC). Meanwhile, Al-Hilal will belong to Kingdom Holding Company.

It is noteworthy that PIF still holds a large stake in these companies, but no longer having direct control will open up a more flexible direction in terms of governance models and attracting international investment. Al-Ahli will continue to be under PIF, with no changes.

According to Goal , many experts believe that this "shuffle" will help clubs become more flexible, attract more big brands, thereby turning the Saudi Pro League into a real "magnet" of the global player market.

Previously, in June 2023, Saudi Arabia caused a stir when it announced the privatization of four top clubs, with 75% of shares transferred directly to PIF. Thanks to that, the clubs recruited a series of superstars such as Ronaldo, Benzema, Neymar, Mahrez and Firmino, pushing the Saudi Pro League into the group of tournaments with the most media appeal outside of Europe.

Ronaldo's Al-Nassr are currently looking for a new coach, with Jorge Jesus considered a potential candidate. Meanwhile, Al-Hilal have continued to reap success and "confront" those who doubt the class of Saudi Arabian football. On the morning of July 1, the club caused a shock when it eliminated Man City in the round of 16 of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™.
