Proud of our Youth Union's history.
Eighty-five years ago, on May 15, 1941, in the Na Ma forest (Cao Bang province), the Children's National Salvation Team – the predecessor of today's Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Team – was officially established under the leadership of President Nguyen Ai Quoc. The team initially consisted of five patriotic and courageous children, led by the heroic martyr Kim Dong. The team was created to unite children into a single organization from the central to local levels, under the guidance and supervision of the Youth Union, and to educate children in the revolutionary spirit.

Throughout history, the name of the Youth Pioneer Organization has undergone many changes, but its noble mission remains unchanged: to train, nurture, and educate Vietnamese children to become good citizens and future leaders of the country.
From that historical milestone, the Young Pioneers have always strived to study and train according to the five teachings of Uncle Ho, actively participating in emulation movements such as: "A Thousand Good Deeds," "Good Grades," "Small Plan," "I Love My Homeland's Seas and Islands," "Showing Gratitude," "Remembering the Source of Water," etc. These activities not only help children study better and live more beautifully, but also demonstrate their love for their homeland through the smallest actions. From the common home of the Young Pioneers, countless generations of children have grown up, matured, and contributed to the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland.
Study hard, practice diligently.
Continuing the tradition of millions of Young Pioneers of the past, the children of Tuyen Quang, along with children nationwide, have faithfully followed President Ho Chi Minh's teaching: "Young people should do small things, according to their abilities." In particular, the provincial Young Pioneer organizations have organized hundreds of trips to historical sites. More than 30,000 children have visited and learned at these sites, thereby fostering national pride.
In academics and training, the movements "Two Friends Progressing Together" and "Building Beautiful Friendships, Saying No to School Violence" are regularly maintained. The work of building a strong Youth Union also achieved impressive results, with 5,275 new members admitted and over 1,000 outstanding members recommended to the Youth Union for consideration for membership.
The growth of the provincial Youth Union movement is embodied in exemplary role models. A prime example is Nguyen Thao Nguyen, a 5th-grade student from My Lam Primary School in My Lam Ward, who is one of three children in Tuyen Quang province to receive the Kim Dong Award for the 2025-2026 school year. With achievements ranging from first prize in the provincial Vietnamese Language competition to first prize in the Outstanding Youth Union Leader competition, Thao Nguyen is proof of a generation of Youth Union members who are "both academically excellent and actively involved."
Besides the small flowers, Ms. Hoang Thi Bach, Head of the Youth Union at Yen Minh Ethnic Boarding Secondary and High School in Yen Minh commune, is one of 45 teachers nationwide to receive the "Pink Swallow" award in 2026. Under her leadership, the Youth Union of Yen Minh Ethnic Boarding Secondary and High School maintains good discipline and effectively promotes movements such as "A Thousand Good Deeds," "Remembering the Source of Water," "Fund for the Poor," charitable activities, gratitude and creative experiences. She also actively trains members to participate in competitions for youth and achieves many outstanding results. With these achievements, Ms. Bach has been awarded the title of "Outstanding Emulation Soldier" at the grassroots level, as well as certificates of merit and commendations for excellent achievements in Youth Union work and children's movements for many consecutive years by the Provincial Department of Education and Training, the Provincial Youth Union, and the Provincial Youth Council.
Comrade Hoang Tuong Vi, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of the Provincial Children's Council, and Director of the Tuyen Quang Provincial Youth and Children's Culture and Sports Center, affirmed: In recent times, the work of the Children's Council and the children's movement in the province has undergone strong transformations, focusing strongly on the grassroots level and emphasizing digital transformation to suit the psychology and age group. As a result, 100% (771/771) of the Children's Councils throughout the province organized thematic activities "One beautiful story, one good book, one shining example each week" to celebrate the Party Congress at all levels. In particular, the "Gratitude and Repayment" movement was concretized through action, with the Children's Councils supporting and assisting 2,105 disadvantaged children with a total gift value of over 400 million VND.
In the context of integration, the Provincial Youth Union Council not only focuses on traditional education but also expands students' skills. The successful organization of the "Provincial English Club Festival" and the "Recycling Plastic Waste into Lifebuoys" competition demonstrated the boundless creativity of the young members. Notably, international exchange activities also yielded positive results, with two delegations of children participating in an exchange program in Guangxi (China), contributing to promoting the image of the people of Tuyen Quang to international friends.
Through organizing activities of the Youth Union and children's movements, the Provincial Youth Union Council has practically accompanied, supported, and guided children. In doing so, it has contributed to writing the glorious history of the development and growth of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Organization in accompanying and guiding children to study and train diligently, be creative, and follow in the footsteps of their ancestors.
