Mr. Dao Van Phuc, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Uong Bi Ward, said: "Uong Bi's approach to infrastructure investment in this phase is to focus on the grassroots, reaching out to every residential area and neighborhood, creating the most favorable conditions for people's daily lives and production, and improving the urban landscape. Urban beautification projects must be implemented in conjunction with building a civilized lifestyle, maintaining urban order, and protecting the environment."

Since July 2025, with targeted support from the provincial budget and matching funds from the wards, Uong Bi has implemented 20 urban beautification projects, focusing on three key project groups: 10 projects addressing flooding and environmental pollution; 4 projects related to cultural institutions; and 6 projects for upgrading and improving existing residential areas.
To effectively implement urban beautification tasks, Uong Bi ward established a Steering Committee for urban beautification and upgrading, assigning specific tasks with clear responsibilities, responsibilities, and timelines. During the implementation process, the ward's Party committees and authorities provided close leadership and guidance, promptly resolving difficulties and obstacles at the grassroots level. Relevant departments, construction units, and consultants strengthened on-site construction supervision, ensuring that projects were implemented on schedule, safely, according to design, and with guaranteed quality and urban aesthetics. Uong Bi was one of the first localities to organize conferences to gather opinions from organizations, individuals, and representatives of residential areas on the planning of the layout, route, and structure of each project…
These activities have fostered public consensus on urban beautification in the area. In Uong Bi ward, 265 households voluntarily donated land totaling over 9,000 m², dismantled nearly 2,000 m³ of structures, and removed numerous trees and other buildings to serve infrastructure and urban beautification projects. As a result, many urban beautification projects in the area have achieved better results, progressing more smoothly and with higher quality.

For example, the Hoa Binh Flower Garden project was completed ahead of schedule. Upon completion, the project transformed the previously dilapidated and unsightly Hoa Binh guesthouse into a new complex featuring fountains, walkways, sidewalks, flowerbeds, and greenery, creating additional green space for residents to stroll, relax, and socialize, contributing to the formation of positive and healthy community habits right in the heart of the city. The project to upgrade and renovate alleys 01 and 02 on Tran Quang Khai Street and the connecting route to Hoang Quoc Viet Street, upon completion, also addressed urgent issues of infrastructure deterioration and traffic safety concerns in Uong Bi ward.
Along with the two aforementioned projects, dozens of projects involving the construction of flower gardens, parks, playgrounds, installation of sports equipment in 33 residential areas, renovation of sidewalks, lighting systems, green spaces, and upgrading and expanding roads in residential areas within Uong Bi ward have been completed and put into use. The results of urban beautification in Uong Bi over the past period affirm the ward's determination to address infrastructure bottlenecks, flooding, protect the lives and property of the people, create green spaces and safe and convenient living environments for the community, improve the quality of life for the people, and build Uong Bi into a modern, integrated, civilized urban area with distinctive architectural features, meeting the standards of a Class 1 urban area.
