Continuing their training program in preparation for the 2023 Women's World Cup, on June 19th, the Vietnamese women's national team played a friendly match against the Polish U23 women's team at the Znicz Pruszków Stadium. Despite their best efforts, due to a physical disadvantage, Coach Mai Duc Chung's team suffered a 1-2 defeat.

The home team, Poland's U23 women's team, was superior in many aspects and quickly established a dominant position.

In the first 15 minutes of the match, Poland controlled possession more and launched a pressing attack in Vietnam's half. Several dangerous situations were created, but goalkeeper Kim Thanh successfully saved them all. In the 23rd minute, Magdalena Sobal dribbled down the right wing into the penalty area and finished accurately to give the home team the opening goal.

After conceding a goal, the Vietnamese women's team pushed forward to attack. In the 26th minute, following a combination with Hai Yen, Huynh Nhu's dribble hit a defender's leg, resulting in Vietnam's first corner kick; however, the subsequent cross was unsuccessful. In the 32nd minute, after an attacking move, captain Huynh Nhu suffered an injury and was unable to continue the match, and Nguyen Thi Thuy Hang was brought on as a substitute.

Huỳnh Như suffered an injury and had to leave the field in the middle of the first half.

In the second half, coach Mai Duc Chung brought on Khong Thi Hang to replace goalkeeper Kim Thanh. The goalkeeper then successfully saved a shot from the Polish U23 striker. However, in the 58th minute, Khong Thi Hang had to pick the ball out of the net when captain Gabriela Grzybowska accurately converted a penalty kick, increasing the score to 2-0 for the home team.

With the aim of testing different positions, within just two minutes, coach Mai Duc Chung made five substitutions, bringing in Thai Thi Thao, Ngan Thi Van Su, Tran Thi Hai Linh, Nguyen Thi Thanh Nha, and Vu Thi Hoa to replace Duong Thi Van, Nguyen Thi Tuyet Dung, Luong Thi Thu Thuong, Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy, and Nguyen Hai Yen.

In the 74th minute, Vu Thi Hoa dribbled the ball into the penalty area and crossed it inwards, but unfortunately, the ball went too weakly. In the 77th minute, My Anh crossed the ball to Thuy Hang, who headed it into the opponent's half. However, luck was still not on Vu Thi Hoa's side as she shot the ball over the crossbar.

Facing increasingly stronger opponents has proven beneficial for the Vietnamese girls.

In the 87th minute, Hoang Thi Loan and Tran Thi Thuy Nga were brought on as substitutes for Nguyen Thi My Anh and Tran Thi Thu. Just one minute later, from a free kick, Thanh Nha took a shot from 25 meters, the ball rebounded, and Van Su rushed in to score with a diagonal shot, reducing the score to 1-2 for the Vietnamese women's team. That was also the final score of the match.

According to the plan, on June 20th, the Vietnamese women's national team will have one more training session in Poland before returning to Frankfurt (Germany) to prepare for the match against the German women's national team on June 24th.
