To ensure the safety of whales, the Nha Trang Bay Management Board requests that organizations, individuals, and watercraft maintain a minimum distance of 100m when observing; and refrain from chasing, blocking, or intentionally moving into the middle of the whale pod.

Tourist vehicles should avoid gathering in large numbers around whale-infested areas; reduce speed, minimize noise, and turn off engines when stopped for observation; and avoid using drones at low altitudes that create loud noise. Whales use low-frequency sound waves for navigation and communication, so noise from engines, loudspeakers, or drones can affect their biological behavior.

The Nha Trang Bay Management Board also requested increased public awareness campaigns for the community, tourists, and vehicle operators regarding their responsibility to protect whales and other wild marine animals. In case of spotting a whale or rare marine animal, people should immediately notify the authorities to coordinate protection efforts in accordance with regulations.

Previously, in July 2025, whales also appeared in this area, which is a positive sign for the marine ecosystem of Nha Trang Bay.
