Vietnam team gathers many new faces

The Vietnamese team gathered on August 29 in Hanoi, under the direction of assistant Dinh Hong Vinh and the list includes many new faces to test the lineup.

This is the third training session of the Vietnamese team in 2025. The main purpose is to review, test and evaluate the force to prepare for the next matches in the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup, which will take place next October.

Because head coach Kim Sang-sik is busy leading U23 Vietnam to compete in the 2026 U23 Asian qualifiers at the same time, the Vietnamese team will be led by acting head coach Dinh Hong Vinh.

The list of the Vietnamese national team this time also has many new faces. Specifically, it includes: goalkeeper Quan Van Chuan (Hanoi), defender Tran Hoang Phuc (Ho Chi Minh City Police), Dinh Quang Kiet (HAGL), midfielder Ly Cong Hoang Anh ( Nam Dinh ), striker Pham Gia Hung (Ninh Binh).

The team welcomes the return of two familiar faces, midfielder Doan Ngoc Tan (Thanh Hoa) and defender Phan Tuan Tai (The Cong Viettel ) after a period of injury treatment.

According to the plan, the Vietnamese team will practice at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, Hanoi , and have 2 practice matches with the Hanoi Police Club (September 4) and Nam Dinh Club (September 7). These are two teams that possess the best foreign players in the V.League.
