The Cham ethnic group in Tay Ninh currently has about 4,000 people, living in 7 areas in the province in the communes and wards of Tan Chau and Tan Bien districts and Tay Ninh city. All Cham people in Tay Ninh follow Islam and practice their religion under the guidance of the Provincial Islamic Community Representative Board.

Members of the Provincial Islamic Community Representative Board took souvenir photos with provincial leaders at the Representative Board office.

In recent times, with the attention and support of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front leaders at all levels, along with departments, branches and organizations at all levels of the province, favorable conditions have been created for the Cham Islam people to stabilize their lives, improve their material and spiritual lives through many practical support policies and many patriotic emulation movements launched with positive results. That has made the Cham Islam people increasingly feel secure and confident in the leadership of the Party and the management of the State, actively striving to contribute their efforts to the implementation of socio -economic development tasks, ensuring security and order. The Cham people are always united with people of other ethnic groups and religions in the great national unity bloc, practicing a civilized lifestyle in residential areas and participating in environmental protection, contributing to hunger eradication and poverty reduction.

According to Mr. Cham Min - Deputy Head of the Provincial Islamic Community Representative Board, in recent years, responding to the campaign "All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas" launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Provincial Islamic Community Representative Board has identified this as a campaign of great significance to the lives of the people, especially in ethnic minority areas. Therefore, the Representative Board always calls on the Cham people to join hands in solidarity and help each other develop production to rise up and escape poverty, not to rely on or wait for the support of the State. At the same time, use support capital from programs and policies reasonably to improve life, increase production, and create motivation for people to strive.

Cham people always practice religious rituals according to regulations.

“The Board of Representatives regularly guides the Management Boards of mosques and small mosques to contribute to propagating and mobilizing people to obey the law and live according to the words of Allah and the Angel. At the same time, they know how to turn to the national origin, promote the tradition of “remembering the source of drinking water”, mutual love and affection, preserve and promote the national cultural identity, good customs and traditions, build a cultural life in hamlets and neighborhoods where Cham ethnic people live, contributing to strengthening the great national unity bloc. Every Friday afternoon, after performing religious rituals according to the provisions of the religious law, the Management Boards of mosques all coordinate to mobilize and guide people to practice a civilized lifestyle in residential areas and cultural hamlets, live a good life, be religious, have exemplary grandparents, have a cultured family, and bury economically…”, said Mr. Cham Min.

In addition, to meet the religious needs of the Cham Islam ethnic group, the Representative Board and the Management Board of the mosques always comply with the Law on Beliefs and Religions, register and notify regular activities. In recent years, some mosques have been degraded and cannot meet the needs of religious activities. The Representative Board has mobilized domestic and foreign donors to help repair a small mosque and build two new mosques with a total cost of more than 10 billion VND. "Thanks to the guidance of the Fatherland Front in completing the paperwork and the local government granting construction permits, it is now almost completed, creating joy and excitement for the community. With a spacious place of worship, believers can come to practice religious rituals more widely, organized, safe, and stable in terms of security and order," Mr. Cham Min shared.

Regarding environmental protection in residential areas, Mr. Cham Min also said that in recent years, the Board of Representatives has deployed the model of "Environmental protection residential area" at the Tan Trung A hamlet church (Tan Hung commune, Tan Chau district). Up to now, the spirit of environmental protection has spread to residential areas in other churches. The Board of Directors coordinates with the local Fatherland Front to organize the registration of environmental protection contents so that people can grasp and understand the harmful effects of environmental pollution caused by humans. The Board of Directors always guides and propagates people to throw garbage in the right place, keep public places, residential areas clean, and raise livestock and animals to ensure hygiene. “Since then, people have understood that environmental protection is very important in human life. People strongly agree and support the implementation of the registered contents. The Management Board of mosques in the province also mobilized followers to clean the environment and implement the program “Clean house, clean kitchen, clean alley” launched by the local Women's Union. Households now use hygienic facilities such as bathrooms and toilets, use clean water, plant and protect trees and flowers in public places and places of worship to create beautiful scenery and activities of the Islamic religion.

Each Cham individual will actively contribute to building cultural life in residential areas.

The Provincial Islamic Community Representative Board also regularly mobilizes benefactors, philanthropists, organizations, individuals, and domestic and foreign charitable sources to support and help the lonely elderly, poor households, and support the Ramadhan and Haji months to hold offerings worth hundreds of millions of VND. At the same time, it participates in lighting up the countryside roads, mobilizing followers to donate more than 10,000,000 VND to pull electricity and install lights to light up 3 Cham ethnic hamlet roads in Tan Trung A hamlet.

Every citizen and Cham ethnic group in the province is always aware of their responsibility and enhances solidarity to work with local authorities to build peaceful and cultural residential areas.
