Training to improve professional skills and techniques in teaching intangible cultural heritage

On the morning of September 19, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized a training course to improve professional skills and techniques in teaching intangible cultural heritage in the province in 2025.

Attending the event were Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Tran Thi Huy Hoang ; Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang - Faculty of Heritage and Ethnic Culture, Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture; nearly 100 delegates who are leaders of the People's Committees of communes and wards; officers of the Department of Culture - Society, Center for Public Service Provision; especially with the participation of Khmer ethnic people, artisans and prestigious people in the community.

The training course belongs to Project 6 "Preserving and promoting fine traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development" in the National Target Program.

The training content focuses on equipping cultural officials, artisans, and Khmer people with knowledge and skills in preserving and promoting intangible cultural heritage; updating methods and models for linking traditional cultural preservation with community tourism development; and creating a forum for exchange and experience sharing, arousing a sense of responsibility in preserving national cultural identity.

Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Tran Thi Huy Hoang delivered the opening speech at the training course.

In her opening speech, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Tran Thi Huy Hoang emphasized that Tay Ninh is a land rich in history and culture, a place where many unique values ​​converge and intersect, including the Khmer community with a rich treasure of intangible cultural heritage, closely linked to spiritual life and beliefs. Preserving and promoting these values ​​not only contributes to preserving national identity, but is also an important resource to promote community tourism development, create livelihoods and improve people's lives.

At the training course, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang presented two topics: Identifying the value and role of traditional culture in the life of the Khmer community; preserving and promoting "living" cultural heritage in the community associated with tourism development.

Through that, delegates will have more knowledge and experience to apply in practice, contributing to preserving and spreading the unique cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities, towards sustainable tourism development./.
