The 220kV Do Luong – Nam Cam transmission line has been energized.

This is a Class I energy project, with the National Power Transmission Corporation as the investor, the Central Region Power Projects Management Board managing and operating the project, and Power Transmission Company 1 taking over operation. The project received investment approval and investor approval from the People's Committee of Nghe An province in Decision No. 123/QD-UBND, dated November 11, 2024.

The project was completed more than one month ahead of the approved investment schedule. This achievement was thanks to the decisive involvement of the local authorities, the cooperation of the people in the areas affected by the project; the decisive direction and management of the National Power Transmission Corporation, the Central Region Power Projects Management Board, and the efforts of the contractors involved in the project.

The 220kV Do Luong – Nam Cam power line project is being constructed in the communes of Thuan Trung, Bach Ha, Van Kieu, Phuc Loc, Thuan Linh, Nghi Loc, and Yen Trung in Nghe An province.

The project involves the construction of two 220kV transmission lines from the 220kV Do Luong Substation to the 220kV Nam Cam Substation, with a total length of approximately 37km. Specifically, the section from G4 to G6 (approximately 4km in length) will have four circuits to be integrated with the two 110kV Do Luong – Nam Dan transmission lines. The expansion of the switchgear bays at the 220kV Do Luong Substation will include the installation of equipment for the two existing 220kV bays within the Do Luong Substation and the connection of the communication system for the 220kV Do Luong – Nam Cam transmission line.

Upon completion, the project will meet the electricity demand for the Central region, which is home to several important existing and future industrial loads in Nghe An province, contributing to the socio -economic development of Nghe An province; and strengthen the power grid connection between Northern Vietnam and Laos, helping to alleviate the power supply shortage in the Northern region.

At the same time, it supports power lines in the region to enhance the safe and stable operation of the national power system; reduces power losses in the transmission grid, and increases the production and business efficiency of EVN and the National Power Transmission Corporation.

The completion of the project is a practical activity to celebrate the 5th Congress of the Trade Union of the National Power Transmission Corporation, term 2025-2030.
