Energizing the 220kV Do Luong

This is a level I energy project, invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation, managed by the Central Power Project Management Board, and operated by Power Transmission Company 1. The project was approved by the People's Committee of Nghe An province in terms of investment policy and the investor in Decision No. 123/QD-UBND, dated November 11, 2024.

The project was completed more than 1 month ahead of schedule compared to the approved investment policy. To achieve this result, it was the drastic participation of the local government, the joint efforts of the people whose projects were passed through; the drastic direction of the National Power Transmission Corporation, the Central Power Project Management Board and the efforts of the contractors participating in the project.

The 220kV Do Luong – Nam Cam transmission line project is built in the communes of Thuan Trung, Bach Ha, Van Kieu, Phuc Loc, Thuan Linh, Nghi Loc, and Yen Trung of Nghe An province.

The project has a scale of building 2 220kV transmission lines from 220kV Do Luong transformer station to 220kV Nam Cam transformer station with a length of about 37km. Particularly, the section from G4 - G6 (length of about 4km) will be built with 04 circuits to combine with 2 circuits of 110kV Do Luong - Nam Dan transmission line. The expansion of the bay at 220kV Do Luong transformer station will install equipment for 2 220kV bays in the 220kV Do Luong transformer station (existing) and connect the information system for the 220kV Do Luong - Nam Cam transmission line.

Once completed, the project will meet the electricity demand for the load in the Central region, where some important existing and future industrial loads of Nghe An province are concentrated, contributing to promoting the socio -economic development of Nghe An province; Strengthening the power grid connection between Northern Vietnam and Laos, contributing to solving the power source tension in the Northern region.

At the same time, support the power lines in the area to enhance the safe and stable operation of the national power system; reduce power loss in the transmission grid, increase production and business efficiency of EVN and the National Power Transmission Corporation.

The completion of the project is a practical activity to welcome the 5th Congress of the National Power Transmission Corporation Trade Union, term 2025-2030.
