Comrades and family give comments on the manuscript of the book about People's Armed Forces Hero Dang Trong Lu

(CT) - On May 19, the Can Tho City Military Command and the Editorial Board of the book "Duong Tu and the Hero's Courage" (manuscript) held a meeting with comrades and family of the Hero of the People's Armed Forces, the late Colonel Dang Trong Lu (commonly known as Hai Duong Tu).

At the meeting, former leaders of the city through the periods, retired generals and military officers contributed many ideas to the manuscript of the book "Duong Tu and the heroic spirit". Thereby clarifying more about the background, life, career, style, talent... of the Hero of the People's Armed Forces, the late Colonel Dang Trong Lu. The comrades of the Hero of the People's Armed Forces, the late Colonel Dang Trong Lu suggested changing the name of the book to "Duong Tu - A lifetime of fighting". The representative of the book's Editorial Board accepted the ideas and said that they would continue to consult and supplement to gradually complete the manuscript of the book.

Hero of the People's Armed Forces, late Colonel Dang Trong Lu (1936-2004), was from Tan Binh Commune, Cai Lay District, Tien Giang Province. In April 1948, he joined the revolution, becoming a soldier of Battalion 307, belonging to the Western Inter-Zone. Hero of the People's Armed Forces Dang Trong Lu participated in combat, commanding many units of the Military Region 9, including the heroic Tay Do Battalion. Before retiring (1989), he was Deputy Commander of Front 979.
