Students participated in the final round of the International Song Contest, organized by the Faculty of Political Science (Can Tho University).
The Internationale Singing Contest, organized by the Faculty of Political Science (Can Tho University) for the first time at the end of June 2025, with 4 teams representing the fields of Philosophy, CivicEducation , Political Science, and the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities participating. Each team staged a performance of the Internationale, ensuring the correct lyrics, encouraging creative staging and illustration through costumes, performance skills and group coordination.
The Internationale is the official song of the international communist movement, first translated by comrade Nguyen Ai Quoc in 1925 and widely popularized since 1930. With its majestic melody and heroic, humane lyrics, the Internationale is not only a symbolic song of the world workers' movement, but also an epic song expressing the aspirations for justice, peace and social progress. Tran Anh Thu, a student majoring in Philosophy, said: "By approaching the song, I understand more clearly the history of its creation and the meaning of its lyrics, further fostering the indomitable and humane spirit of the proletariat. This is a useful playground, helping me develop my artistic talent and have the opportunity to improve my knowledge of the communist movement through learning about the history of the song's creation."
Master Tran Truong Gia Bao, Secretary of the Youth Union of the Faculty of Political Science, added: “The Youth Union of the Faculty also proposed that the School Youth Union expand the International Song Contest to the school level, in addition to the annual traditional National Anthem Contest. The Youth Union of the Faculty also regularly organizes art programs including many revolutionary propaganda songs”. The songs selected for performance often have pure content, rich in humanity, promoting a beautiful lifestyle, the desire to rise up and responsibility to the community. Through that, students not only develop their artistic talents, but also nurture their souls and cultivate noble ideals. The Youth Union of the Faculty also focuses on promoting the meaning of holidays and anniversaries; contests to learn about the resolutions of the Party and the Youth Union on online platforms, attracting hundreds of students to participate.
At Nam Can Tho University, the Youth Union branches have promoted historical tradition education activities with increasingly rich content and forms, suitable to the needs of students. From 2022 to present, the Youth Union has organized 8 "Journey to red addresses", 8 programs to clean up martyrs' cemeteries, 15 gratitude activities (with gifts worth more than 30 million VND). The campaign "Building model values of Vietnamese youth in the new era" has been implemented by the Youth Union branches in many forms, such as praising "Good people, good deeds" in the fields of study, scientific research, the "5 good students" movement and volunteer activities for the community. As a result, the Youth Union has recognized 1,400 "5 good students" (good morality, good study, good volunteering, good physical strength and good integration) at the school level. More than 500 news and articles about outstanding examples of achievements in study, research and movement activities, contributing to spreading beautiful stories on cyberspace.
During peak emulation periods (Youth Month, Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign), the Youth Union - Association of schools carry out many tasks to care for families with preferential policies and households in difficult circumstances. According to Mr. Nguyen Hoang Khanh, Secretary of the Youth Union of Can Tho College of Economics and Technology, this summer, the school's youth implemented two groups of activities: caring for and supporting families with preferential policies and children in difficult circumstances; cleaning and planting ornamental flowers at martyrs' cemeteries, participating in the "Lighting candles in gratitude" program at Can Tho City Martyrs' Cemetery on the occasion of the War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27). In addition, the school's Youth Union prioritizes volunteer activities in areas that used to be revolutionary bases. The innovation of revolutionary ideal education is not only the political responsibility of the Youth Union, but also a practical environment for young people to practice, mature in awareness, and make practical contributions to the homeland.
