On July 4, in Da Nang City, the Ministry of Education and Training coordinated with the People's Committee of Da Nang City and the University of Education - Da Nang University to organize a rally in response to World Environment Day with the theme "Fighting plastic pollution" and launch the 2025 Environmental Action Month in the entire industry.

Attending the event were Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc, Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, along with representatives of many universities, students, and international organizations.
Speaking at the rally, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc said that fighting plastic pollution is not just a slogan but needs to become a concrete action in every school and every student.
"Theeducation sector is making efforts to innovate communication methods, actively incorporating environmental education into the main and extracurricular programs, aiming to build a "school without plastic waste", the Deputy Minister of Education and Training emphasized.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc called on educational institutions to promote green living models, not using plastic bags and disposable plastic products; at the same time, affirming the pioneering role of education in changing behavior, raising awareness of environmental protection, towards "Vietnam without plastic waste - a green future - a sustainable planet".
Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People's Committee, said that the city considers building "Da Nang - an environmental city" as a pillar in its sustainable urban development strategy. Recently, Da Nang committed to implementing the "Clean Blue Cities" initiative with other coastal cities in Southeast Asia, aiming to reduce at least 50% of plastic waste discharged into the ocean by 2030.

Within the framework of the rally, many response activities were organized such as exhibition of recycled products, student action commitment forum, green initiative awards, etc.
The prize for the contest "Building videos and clips to protect the environment, classify waste and reduce plastic waste" launched by Dong Thap University in collaboration with Da Nang University was also awarded on this occasion. The contest attracted a large number of students from all over the country to participate.
