On the afternoon of October 7, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lang Son province said that heavy rain had caused flooding in some places in the province.
At 5:00 p.m., at Ky Cung River, Lang Son station recorded the water level at 251.41m (0.59m below alarm level 1).
On the Trung River at Huu Lung station, the water level is about 2.61m above alert level 3. And on the Bac Giang River at Van Mich station, the water level is about 5.25m above alert level 3.
In the next 6-12 hours, flood water on the Trung River will continue to rise rapidly, around alert level 3. It is expected that this evening, the Bac Giang River will peak and remain above alert level 3.

On the same evening, the National Civil Defense Steering Committee provided additional information on the collapse of the Bac Khe 1 hydroelectric dam (Tan Tien commune, Lang Son). Accordingly, the incident occurred at around 1:30 p.m. the same day, with the breach measuring approximately 5 meters long.
With a reservoir capacity of about 4.3 million m3 of water, to ensure safety for people downstream, the locality has evacuated more than 100 people to shelters.
On the same day, a working delegation of the committee led by Mr. Pham Hai Chau - Deputy Chief of Office of the committee - arrived at the scene to direct response and overcome the consequences.
