Defender Doan Van Hau and striker Nguyen Van Toan hope that coach Kim Sang Sik and his team will have a big win in the two matches against Nepal in the Group F qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup.

Van Hau and Van Toan were both absent from the FIFA Days training session in October with the Vietnamese national team. The reason is that these two players are both recovering from injuries.

Although not joining the Vietnamese team at Binh Duong Stadium, Van Hau and Van Toan still closely follow their teammates' activities and look forward to the two matches on October 9 and 14.

A day before the match, Van Hau and Van Toan reunited at an event of FC Mobile. Here, Van Hau and Van Toan had a friendly match on the phone to compare their skills.

In addition, both shared more information about the recovery process and score prediction.

"I can say that I have "graduated" from the rehabilitation program. I gradually practice with my teammates from 5-10 to 20 minutes. I hope my efforts will be rewarded in the near future so that I can play with the Hanoi Police Club and return to the Vietnam national team," Van Hau said.

Van Hau suffered an injury to the Achilles tendon in his left foot in September 2023. The persistent injury forced him to go to Singapore for surgery, then to Korea for treatment to return.

Ahead of the match between Vietnam and Nepal in Group F of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers, Van Hau said: "I still follow the team and even if the opponent is Nepal, we will still respect and play our best. I predict we will have a big win 3-0 in the first leg and 5-0 in the second leg."

The defender born in 1999 recalled the time when he and the Vietnamese team continuously won the right to participate in the Asian Cup 2019 and 2023. "I feel like the Vietnamese team has often reached out to the big ocean, now that we cannot participate, it feels like something is missing, so I hope we can do it," he said.

Meanwhile, Van Toan is still limping with his right leg. He just had meniscus surgery in August and will need at least 6 months to return to play for the Nam Dinh Steel Club.

Van Toan also hopes that the Vietnamese team will win big against Nepal to gain an advantage in the qualifying round of Group F of the 2027 Asian Cup. The match will take place on the evening of October 9 at Binh Duong Stadium.
