Contribute solutions to strengthen forest management, protection, development and biodiversity conservation

This afternoon, June 9, the Provincial Forest Protection Department organized a workshop " Quang Tri Forest Protection - 50 years of forest management, protection, forest development and biodiversity conservation".

At the workshop, the units shared experiences in forest management, results of cooperation in biodiversity conservation between the Forest Protection Department and WWF-Vietnam through the Biodiversity Conservation component in Quang Tri, forest allocation with benefit policies in Huong Hoa district, biodiversity conservation work in Bac Huong Hoa Nature Reserve, some results of forestry science research in Quang Tri province. Representatives of the Forest Protection Department of Region II also shared experiences in coordination in forest protection and forest fire prevention and fighting in Quang Tri province.

Delegates attending the workshop were also informed about some results in the development of large timber plantations and the certification of sustainable forest management in the province, the application of information technology in forest protection management in Quang Tri, and the situation of law enforcement in forest protection.

Representatives of the Quang Tri Provincial Forest Protection Department received comments and discussions from the units contributing to the workshop. At the same time, they emphasized that these are important and practical solutions for the Provincial Forest Protection Department to continue performing the tasks of forest management, protection, forest development and biodiversity conservation in Quang Tri province in the coming time.
