On the morning of April 9th, coffee prices in the Central Highlands continued to plummet compared to the previous session, falling by 7,000 to 8,000 VND per kilogram. The average purchase price is now only around 120,000 VND/kg. In provinces such as Dak Lak, Gia Lai, and Dak Nong , prices fluctuate around 120,000 VND/kg, while Lam Dong is lower at 118,000 VND/kg.

On the world market, Robusta coffee prices on the London exchange began to show signs of a slight recovery after several sessions of sharp declines, fluctuating between $4,626 and $4,879 per ton depending on the contract term. Meanwhile, Arabica prices on the New York exchange continued to decline slightly, fluctuating between 329.70 and 350.15 cents per pound. Brazilian Arabica prices recorded inconsistent fluctuations, with contracts for May to December 2025 ranging from $410 to $475 per ton.

Coffee and pepper prices today, April 9, 2025: Both experiencing record declines.

On the same day, domestic pepper prices also recorded a sudden and sharp drop, falling by 5,000 to 6,000 VND/kg. Currently, the average price of pepper in key producing regions fluctuates around 148,800 VND/kg. In Gia Lai, the price is only 148,000 VND/kg. Localities such as Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Dak Lak, Binh Phuoc , and Dak Nong all have purchase prices at 149,000 VND/kg.

On the international market, pepper prices in Indonesia fell by between $122 and $302 per ton. Brazil also recorded a decrease of $150 per ton, while other countries such as Malaysia maintained stable prices. The International Pepper Association announced that the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper is currently at $7,117 per ton, and Muntok white pepper is at $9,764 per ton.

In Malaysia, the price of ASTA black pepper remained at US$9,850/ton, while ASTA white pepper was at US$12,300/ton. Brazilian pepper prices have now fallen to US$6,800/ton after a period of stability.

Meanwhile, the Vietnamese pepper export market remains stable and at a high level. The price of black pepper (500 g/l) reached US$7,100/ton, and the price of 550 g/l reached US$7,300/ton. The price of white pepper is currently at US$10,100/ton.
