On the morning of July 23, Ms. Truong Huyen Trang, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Sao Commune ( Dong Thap Province) said that the local government is mobilizing forces to support people in overcoming the incident caused by thunderstorms that collapsed and blew off the roofs of hundreds of houses in the area.
Statistics up to 9:00 a.m. the same day showed that in the commune, 28 houses collapsed, 112 houses and a chicken farm (200 square meters wide) had their roofs blown off; 2 schools had their roofs collapsed, teachers' garages, trees fell, and classrooms were damaged.
The incident caused by rain and wind injured 8 people and they were transferred to the Commune Health Center and hospital for first aid and treatment.

"The commune government has mobilized local police and military forces and coordinated with Regiment 320 (Dong Thap Province Military Command) to support forces to repair houses, mobilize necessities to support affected people in difficult circumstances, and soon stabilize their lives," said the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Sao commune.

In My Ngai ward (Dong Thap province), initial statistics show that 105 houses collapsed and had their roofs blown off, of which 13 houses collapsed completely, injuring 9 people. Currently, localities in Dong Thap province are counting the damage and overcoming the consequences caused by the storm.

Previously, on the 21st and 22nd, heavy rain and thunderstorms occurred in 16 communes and wards of Dong Thap province, causing damage to 104 houses (1 house collapsed and 103 houses had their roofs blown off).
In addition, 2 classrooms and 1 warehouse were damaged, 5 electric poles and 4 lighting poles were broken, and many areas of fruit trees and rice fields were broken and fell.
