New impetus, new resources for Nha Trang's development.

The approved master plan for Nha Trang City will transform the city into a metropolis of national and Southeast Asian regional significance.

On March 31, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed a decision approving the revised master plan for Nha Trang City until 2040.

Nha Trang will be a coastal city striving to gradually become a commercial and financial city of national and regional significance in Southeast Asia.

A new direction for Nha Trang

Comrade Nguyen Hai Ninh - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, said that the revised master plan for Nha Trang City until 2040 is an extremely meaningful gift, marking an important milestone, opening up a new vision and a new direction for Nha Trang City in particular and Khanh Hoa province in general. With the approved plan, Nha Trang City will have more favorable conditions and a solid foundation to become a prosperous, civilized, and happy city, making Khanh Hoa province "a new standard for quality of life, work, and tourism ."

According to the approved plan, Nha Trang will be a green, clean, and sustainably developed coastal city with diverse services, world-class tourism services, associated with unique natural, cultural, and ecological landscape values; gradually striving to become a commercial and financial city of national and Southeast Asian stature.

Furthermore, the city's urban model and structure are organized in a multi-centered manner, with the focus on the coastal urban strip and centers associated with scenic areas, main urban axes, and unique ecosystems. Urban development is oriented towards expanding construction space to the north, northwest, west, south, and east.

Associate Professor Dr. Tran Dinh Thien - Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, former Director of the Vietnam Institute of Economics, assessed: Nha Trang is creating new momentum for a new competition. This is an opportunity to realize the idea of developing the homeland of Vietnam.

Associate Professor Tran Dinh Thien also expressed his view: Nha Trang should not compete with any other city in Vietnam, but rather compete globally and internationally. “Nha Trang must seek to be a pilot model for a smart and innovative city. Nha Trang must define itself as a coastal city, building a cultural city of international standards; becoming the capital of a centrally-governed city; a sub-regional center… with national significance.”

Creating a new quality of life

Associate Professor Tran Minh Tung - Head of the Department of Civil Architecture, Faculty of Architecture and Planning, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, acknowledged: Among the coastal cities of Central Vietnam, Nha Trang is always considered a "special" destination because few localities possess such a beautiful coastline, combined with many rivers rich in cultural significance, and have as much potential for development as this city.

In fact, Nha Trang is experiencing rapid acceleration in its transformation into a leading destination in the region, leveraging its natural beauty while simultaneously implementing a well-planned infrastructure and service strategy based on international standards. Beyond focusing on high-end accommodations, entertainment, and unique beachfront services, Nha Trang is also developing new urban models, particularly coastal cities. The recently approved revised master plan for Nha Trang City until 2040 further demonstrates this.

Accordingly, a recent highlight is the emergence of Libera Nha Trang – an international-class coastal urban area with its own private beach located right in the heart of Nha Trang city, along the extended Tran Phu road. Spanning 44 hectares, Libera Nha Trang is expected to become a new unmissable center for domestic and international tourists, as well as the city's residents, offering vibrant experiences in accommodation, relaxation, entertainment, shopping, and culture, such as the Van San Dao Park, the Do Theater with the Puppet Show, and the vibrant "downtown" area…

“Nha Trang’s development resources are its superior human resources, infrastructure, and institutions. Nha Trang is facing new challenges and new playing fields. For Nha Trang to develop further, it is necessary to transform challenges into opportunities; challenges for the government into opportunities for businesses, thereby creating momentum for development,” affirmed Associate Professor Dr. Tran Dinh Thien.
