Attending the event were Party Central Committee members: Le Minh Hoan, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; Mai Van Chinh, Deputy Prime Minister; Le Quoc Phong, Secretary of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee.
This is also the first project invested by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor using trade union financial resources to be implemented in accordance with Housing Law No. 27/2023/QH15 dated November 27, 2023. The project has a total investment of nearly 450 billion VND.

According to comrade Le Quoc Phong, Secretary of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee, the project contributes to solving the urgent need for housing, gradually building a system of trade union institutions at the grassroots level, creating favorable conditions for trade unions to better perform their functions of caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh emphasized that the project will meet the practical housing needs, contributing to realizing the dream of "settling down and having a career" of workers and laborers in the province, helping workers feel secure in their work, work, stick with and contribute to the business, contributing to the socio -economic development of the locality.

On the same morning, in Thap Muoi commune (Dong Thap province), the Ministry of Construction coordinated with the People's Committee of Dong Thap province to organize the groundbreaking ceremony of the My An - Cao Lanh Expressway Construction Investment Project Phase 1 (abbreviated as the My An - Cao Lanh Expressway Project). The project has a route length of about 26.6 km, invested in 4-lane phases, with a total investment of VND 6,128 billion, using ODA loans from the Korean Government through the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) and counterpart funds from the Vietnamese Government, invested by the My Thuan Project Management Board, with an expected implementation period of 3 years (2025-2028). The project has a starting point connecting with route N2 in Doc Binh Kieu commune and an end point connecting at An Binh intersection (head of Cao Lanh bridge), in My Tra ward, Dong Thap province.

When completed and put into operation, the project, along with the Cao Lanh - Lo Te route and the Lo Te - Rach Soi route that are being upgraded to expressway scale, will help connect Ho Chi Minh City through Tay Ninh, Dong Thap and An Giang, shortening travel time and at the same time reducing pressure on the North - South Eastern Expressway, National Highway 1, National Highway 30, National Highway 80 and neighboring routes.
