Nhon urban railway project

TPO - July 28th was the deadline for commercial operation, but to date, the elevated section of the Nhon - Hanoi Station urban railway project (from Nhon Station to Cau Giay) remains "inactive," not yet welcoming passengers as planned.

The Nhon - Hanoi Station metro project continues to miss its deadline.

Regarding the Nhon - Hanoi Station urban railway line, recently, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha requested the Hanoi People's Committee to take responsibility for directing relevant agencies and units to urgently complete the tasks, contents, and procedures, such as coordinating with agencies of the Ministry of Transport to complete the assessment and issuance of the System Safety Certificate according to regulations; and environmental permit procedures by July 20th.

The Deputy Prime Minister also requested that the procedures for inspecting and accepting the project be completed before July 26, 2024, ensuring that the elevated section of the Nhon - Hanoi Station urban railway line is put into commercial operation before July 28, and that the completion deadline is absolutely not delayed.

However, as of July 30th, the Nhon - Hanoi Station metro project remains "stalled," showing no signs of activity.

Observations over the past few days show that the elevated sections of this railway line remain closed.

The entrance to Le Duc Tho station is protected by barbed wire fences, and the elevators are covered with tarpaulins.

At Cau Dien station, after the heavy rains, the messy scene reappears.

The train station corridors are being used by locals to store goods.

To date, the construction progress of the elevated section of the Nhon - Hanoi Station metro line has reached 100%. Currently, 10 trains of the project have completed trial runs and have been issued license plates by the Vietnam Register for operation. However, the project is currently undergoing evaluation, assessment, and acceptance by specialized agencies, so the trains can only operate after this work is completed.
