On the morning of December 1, Green Journey Social Enterprise Joint Stock Company officially launched the "Green Community Garden" project to mark a positive step forward in the green transformation process, to promote efforts in the "trend" of sustainable development for the community. The project is accompanied by Farmers Vietnam Network and Food Bank Vietnam.

The "Green Community Garden" project will be implemented in gardens in the project's ecosystem nationwide. In the first phase, it will be piloted as a universal project to raise community awareness through the classification of organic waste, kitchen, planting trees to protect the environment...

In particular, the project will also be implemented directly in a number of experimental gardens with vegetables, mushrooms and fish farms... using food and fertilizer from organic waste: bread, unused raw materials, surplus during the operation of partners such as restaurants, hotels or food production and processing enterprises,...

Products made from the Gardens: such as fish, vegetables, fruits, trees, etc. will be donated free of charge to the Vietnam Food Bank system for transportation and donation to beneficiaries such as shelters, open houses, nursing homes, etc. At the same time, products in the Community Green Garden model will also be launched through fundraising businesses to help maintain and expand the scale of the Garden in the future.

At the launching ceremony of the "Green Community Garden" project, the Organizing Committee also presented 50 mini organic waste bins to 50 households in Ward 3, Hiep Binh Chanh Ward, Thu Duc City, so that everyone can join hands to classify organic waste at home. At the end of the day, households will bring those organic waste bins to the collection point in the neighborhood with the project's large waste bins to put them in. Then the project department will transport the organic waste bins to the "Green Community Garden" for composting...

Before launching the project, the Organizing Committee also promoted, mobilized and piloted the project to households, individuals and groups to participate in the "Exchange trash - Get gifts" activity in the Ho Chi Minh City area.

This time, the pilot project model at the garden in Cu Chi district, Ho Chi Minh City, belonging to the project's ecosystem network, with an area of ​​10,000m2 (1 hectare), will directly implement activities according to the orientation plan. After that, the project will continue to develop and expand in the Mekong Delta region and provinces/cities nationwide in 2024.

On the same day, "Green Community Garden" will also place the project's organic waste bins at stores, supermarkets, restaurants, apartments, etc. to encourage individuals and groups to join hands in sorting waste, aiming to treat waste, reduce carbon, and combat climate change in the community.

Specifically, in 2010, he implemented the model of "growing vegetables on project land" with a total area of ​​7,000m2, from a piece of land abandoned and full of weeds, we have implemented and formed a green vegetable garden of all kinds; gourd, squash, squash, eggplant, okra, rai mustard, xa lanh, banana, papaya,... In addition, we also dug ponds to implement a model of raising catfish, tilapia... to support shelters, charity kitchens,... Cherishing these common goals, our company has been quietly implementing throughout the period. Currently, we have a network of Garden ecosystems community greening nationwide. And the garden of more than 1 hectare in Cu Chi district, Ho Chi Minh City is the starting garden for this series of projects.

Our goal when implementing this project is to collect, classify, process organic waste and compost to grow trees, clean vegetables and fruits...
