The Forest Protection Department has announced the forest fire risk forecast for the province from May 26th to June 1st, 2026. Of particular note: On May 26th and 27th, the forest fire risk forecast for the province reached level III (high level, prolonged dry weather, high risk of forest fires, focus on fire prevention for pine, eucalyptus, bamboo, and reed forests...). Many communes reached level IV (dangerous level, prolonged dry weather, high risk of forest fires, rapid fire spread) such as: Tan Quang, Dong Tam, Lien Hiep, Hung An, Dong Yen, Bac Quang, Bang Hanh, Vinh Tuy, Tien Nguyen, Quang Binh, Yen Thanh, Bang Lang, Tan Trinh, Xuan Giang, Tien Yen, Yen Phu, Bach Xa, Phu Luu, Ham Yen, Binh Xa, Thai Son, Thai Hoa, Trung Ha, Tan An, Yen Nguyen, Hung Duc...

To proactively and effectively carry out forest fire prevention and control (FFPC), the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requests the heads of relevant departments and agencies, and the Chairmen of the People's Committees of communes and wards to focus and decisively implement key tasks. Specifically, the People's Committees of communes and wards and relevant agencies must absolutely avoid complacency, negligence, and a lack of vigilance, especially during peak periods of hot weather; strengthen inspection and supervision of FFPC from early on, from afar, and at the grassroots level. Proactively and urgently review local FFPC plans and strategies with the "four on-the-spot" principle.

Strengthen training and professional development in forest fire prevention and control for the fire prevention and control force. Assign forces to be on duty 24/7 throughout the dry season; set up checkpoints and patrols in key areas prone to forest fires, strictly control access to and from high-risk forest areas; promptly detect fire outbreaks, mobilize forces to control and extinguish forest fires in the shortest possible time. Strengthen propaganda and education to raise public awareness and responsibility in forest fire prevention and control; inspect, supervise, and strictly control the use of fire in and near forests, especially slash-and-burn farming; temporarily suspend the use of fire for clearing vegetation; strictly punish acts of using fire that pose a risk of forest fires during peak periods and periods of high forest fire risk...

In the coming period, according to forecasts from the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting, due to the impact of climate change and the influence of the El Nino phenomenon, intense heatwaves will continue in many localities, posing a very high risk of forest fires. On May 26th, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment issued a directive to provinces and cities to implement comprehensive solutions to continue effectively preventing and fighting forest fires promptly, minimizing damage caused by forest fires.
