The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has just updated the weather forecast for July 26, 2025, showing a decreasing trend of heavy rain in some areas, but warning of high risk in the Central provinces.
Heavy rain on July 25 and forecast for July 26
On July 25, many areas recorded significant rainfall. The North, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An had scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places experiencing heavy rain with rainfall exceeding 40mm. Notably, some stations such as Si Lo Lau (Lai Chau), Y Ty (Lao Cai), Yen Loc ( Nam Dinh ) all recorded rainfall exceeding this mark.
On the afternoon and night of July 25, the Northwest, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An continued to have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain with common amounts of 20-50mm, some places over 120mm. Other places in the North also had showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain.
From the night of July 25 to the night of July 27, the area from Ha Tinh to Da Nang is expected to experience moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, with some places experiencing very heavy rain. The average rainfall is 60-120mm, with some places exceeding 200mm. In particular, the Center warns of the risk of heavy rain, which could exceed 100mm in 3 hours.
From July 26, heavy rain in the North, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An will gradually decrease. By July 28, heavy rain in the area from Ha Tinh to Da Nang will also likely gradually decrease. The level of natural disaster risk due to heavy rain, tornadoes, lightning and hail is warned at level 1.
Heavy rains always pose a risk of flooding in low-lying areas, urban and industrial areas, as well as flash floods on small rivers and streams and landslides on steep slopes. People need to take proactive measures to ensure safety.

The lowest temperature is 24-27 degrees Celsius, the highest is 29-32 degrees Celsius (over 32 degrees Celsius in some places). Beware of tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind.
South Central Coast: Scattered showers and thunderstorms during the day, scattered showers and thunderstorms at night. Lowest temperature 25-28 degrees Celsius, highest 31-34 degrees Celsius. Possible tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
