On May 10, at Hai Phong station and Nguyen Du flower garden, the Hai Phong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism opened the Hai Phong Delicious Food Festival 2025, an event marking a new development step in the journey to build a unique and attractive "Hai Phong foodtour" brand.

Taking place over 3 days, from May 10 to 12, the festival gathered 23 units with more than 25 booths displaying and introducing the culinary quintessence of the port city. From rustic dishes that have become symbols such as spicy bread, su din, pate... to local specialties, OCOP products of districts, all create a culinary picture with strong identity and rich appeal.

At the festival, visitors can also access tourism information, attractive destinations, visit souvenir and handicraft booths and receive thousands of discount vouchers for shopping and experience activities in Hai Phong.

According to Ms. Tran Thi Hoang Mai, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong, the unique features of Hai Phong cuisine lie in its openness and individuality, the result of a long process. Unlike the sophistication of Hanoi cuisine or the sophistication in the presentation of Hue, Hai Phong cuisine is a blend of local habits and deep influences from other cuisines such as France and China.

"Many dishes in Hai Phong have unknown origins, but naturally become specialties when people mention this city," Ms. Mai shared.

Experts and tourists alike agree that Hai Phong is opening a new era in promoting culinary culture, with a series of activities from local food tours, delicious food festivals, to the Golden Chef competition held annually and systematically.

With the advantage of "just step out of the alley and there is delicious food", cuisine is not only a part of life, but also a special highlight, making tourists love and remember forever the land and people of Hai Phong.
