This year's September 2nd holiday, with its four-day break (from August 31st to September 3rd), is the perfect time for people to relax and have fun. In Can Tho, tourists are choosing to visit orchard tourist areas to experience life on the waterways of the Mekong Delta.

One of the favorite destinations for many tourists visiting Can Tho is the Purple House (99 Chi Sinh Street, Tan Phu Ward, Cai Rang District), a check-in spot overflowing with purple hues.

Ms. Huynh Thi Hong Sen, owner of the Purple House, shared: "The tourist area has built a new space called the Purple Lagerstroemia Road. This road has just opened, creating more diverse check-in spaces for tourists visiting and taking photos during this year's holiday."
The purple crape myrtle pathway covers an area of approximately 1,000 square meters and is planted with various purple flowers: purple crape myrtle, purple zinnia, myrtle, purple morning glory, and especially features two large, picturesque ponds filled with purple water lilies.

Reporters observed at Ong De eco-tourism village (Phong Dien district) that tourists, dressed in brown "ba ba" traditional clothing, were enjoying folk games and thrilling water activities. In addition, there were spaces for enjoying traditional cakes, local cuisine , and singing.

Mr. Le Hai Phuc, owner of Ong De tourist village, said: "This year, for the September 2nd holiday, we organized many activities to attract tourists such as: lucky draws, a traditional Southern Vietnamese cake and fruit area, a bingo show, a 'Miss Ong De 2024' catwalk competition, folk games... On the first day, August 31st, Ong De eco-tourism village welcomed about 1,000 visitors."

Meanwhile, at Phi Yen Eco-tourism Area (located in Nhon Loc 1 hamlet, Phong Dien district, Can Tho city), visitors enjoy experiencing walking on monkey bridges, participating in fishing activities; or learning how to row boats and paddle canoes - typical means of transportation on the river for people in the Mekong Delta.

"Phi Yen's advantage lies in its orchards growing many specialty fruits of Phong Dien, such as oranges, Ha Chau strawberries, jackfruit, mangoes, rambutan, and mangosteen... The highlight of the orchard is that visitors can freely pick and enjoy the fruit on the spot. Coming here, visitors feel like they've returned to their ancestral homes of the past, with orchards, rivers, rowing boats, and the freedom to enjoy delicious Southern Vietnamese dishes cooked in the traditional way in the orchards," said Mr. Ngo Trong Phu, owner of Phi Yen Eco-tourism Area.
