The rest stop at Km205 on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway in Binh Thuan province will soon be put into temporary operation to serve people traveling during the Lunar New Year holiday in 2025.

On the afternoon of January 23rd, Mr. Bui Duy Anh, Head of the Road Management Office IV.1 (Road Management Area IV), stated that his unit had coordinated with Project Management Board 7 to inspect the site and work with the investor to discuss traffic management plans and put into operation the rest stop at Km205 (Ham Thuan Bac district, Binh Thuan province) on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway.

"Through the meeting, the parties agreed on a traffic management plan and reported it to the Road Management Area IV for early approval to put the temporary rest stop into operation from January 24th to serve people during Tet," Mr. Duy Anh said.

According to Mr. Dinh Van Tinh, a specialist from the Expressway Management Board, after being approved for temporary operation, Project Management Board 7 will coordinate with relevant units to fence off and close the temporary rest stop at Km199 in Ham Thuan Bac district to ensure traffic safety.

According to observations by reporters at 5 PM on January 23rd, the access road from the highway to the Km205 rest stop has completed the construction of parking lots and temporary restrooms.

However, authorities have not yet allowed vehicles to enter the rest stop. This is due to the contractor's delay in finalizing the traffic management plan, causing the station to be three days behind schedule.

Workers are also urgently installing signage at the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet highway rest stop at Km205 on the right side of the road.

Thus, with the commissioning of the aforementioned rest stops, the expressway section from Ho Chi Minh City to Ninh Thuan province will have four rest stops: the Km42 rest stop on the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway (Long Thanh expressway); the Km 47+500 rest stop on the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway; the Km205 rest stop (mentioned above); and the temporary Km113 rest stop on the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway.

Drivers should note that, apart from the rest stop at Km42 which has a fuel station, the remaining rest stops are under construction and therefore do not have gas stations. Therefore, drivers should refuel before entering the highway or exiting at interchanges.

The Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway is 100.8km long and runs through Binh Thuan province. The expressway is planned with two rest stops: one at Km 205+092 in Ham Thuan Bac district and another at Km 144+560 in Tuy Phong district, Binh Thuan province. Each rest stop covers an area of 10 hectares, encompassing the left and right sides of the route.
