Vibrant colors of spring
From the last days of the twelfth lunar month, the streets of Khanh Hoa were bustling with preparations to welcome tourists. Vibrant music and dance performances took place at April 2nd Square (Nha Trang ward) and April 16th Square (Dong Hai ward), attracting thousands of locals and tourists to immerse themselves in the spring festivities. The "Spring Colors of the Nation" photo exhibition along Tran Phu coastal park (Nha Trang ward) and the " Khanh Hoa in a New Era" exhibition at April 16th Square, along with street art performances and a spring flower festival, created a joyful festive atmosphere inviting visitors to celebrate the spring season.

Tourist destinations throughout the province have donned a vibrant spring attire. The most striking highlight is Hon Tre Island, which has been adorned with nearly 70,000 dazzling tulips, creating enchanting scenes and numerous ideal photo opportunities. The shows at VinWonders Nha Trang are continuously increasing in number from morning to night: the magical mermaid show in the underwater palace, the impressive welcome show at the Festival Hill, mini-shows, and a series of Tet (Lunar New Year) events spread across the island's various zones, all contributing to the attractiveness of the Vinpearl Nha Trang tourist complex on Hon Tre Island. The Orchid Island tourist area, Yang Bay Tourist Park, Galina Lake View - Kenh Ha Lake, Truong Son Craft Village, and others have all created many beautiful spring flower displays. This year, in particular, Nha Trang Ancient Craft Village is organizing a "Traditional Tet Festival" brimming with traditional cultural elements, featuring unique Tet markets, lion and dragon dances, folk games, boat races, ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress) fashion shows, and handcrafted dishes and cakes skillfully prepared by local artisans and chefs. "Tet here isn't just about watching, but about immersing yourself in the experience, reliving the atmosphere of Tet of yesteryear," shared Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh, Executive Director of Nha Trang Ancient Craft Village. During the first days of spring, Champa Island Nha Trang Tourist Area will host lion dances to celebrate the new year, along with other spring-themed dances, lucky money giveaways, monkey circus performances, and traditional folk games.

Four- and five-star hotels and resorts in central Nha Trang and Bai Dai (Cam Lam) such as Alma, Ana Mandara Cam Ranh, The Anam Cam Ranh, Radisson Blu Cam Ranh... are simultaneously offering programs with a distinctly Vietnamese Tet (Lunar New Year) atmosphere: New Year's buffet parties, lion dances to welcome spring, calligraphers offering calligraphy, giving lucky money, and traditional folk games. Many foreign tourists have the opportunity to try their hand at making banh chung (traditional rice cakes) and throwing the "con" (a traditional game) for the first time, experiencing the joyful laughter of traditional Vietnamese Tet.
Revenue skyrocketed.
The allure of high-quality tourism products and intensified promotional efforts transformed Khanh Hoa into a leading destination nationwide during the Lunar New Year of the Horse. From February 16th to 21st (29th of the 12th lunar month to the 5th day of the 1st lunar month), Cam Ranh International Airport handled 774 flights (497 international and 277 domestic), with approximately 142,720 passengers passing through. Besides air travel, the number of visitors arriving by land also surged. During peak hours on the mornings of the 4th and 5th days of the Lunar New Year, tourist buses lined up along Tran Phu Street. On the 4th day of the Lunar New Year, the Costa Serena cruise ship (Italian nationality) brought over 3,500 tourists to Nha Trang as part of its Vietnam tourism exploration program.

Popular tourist attractions such as the Po Nagar Cham Towers, the Oceanographic Museum, Long Son Pagoda, and Hon Chong scenic spot... welcomed a record number of visitors. Nha Trang Tourist Wharf alone recorded over 45,000 bookings for tours of Nha Trang Bay during the 9-day Tet holiday, with favorite destinations being Hon Mun, Hon Tam, and Coral Bay. "On the 4th and 5th days of Tet, the number of domestic tourists increased significantly. Each day, the wharf welcomed approximately 10,000 visitors," said Mr. Tran Van Phu, Head of the Nha Trang Tourist Wharf Management Department. Similarly, the Po Nagar Cham Towers received nearly 49,000 visitors during the 9-day Tet holiday.
According to a report from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, from February 15th to 21st, tourist attractions in the province welcomed nearly 735,000 visitors, an increase of 12.1%. The average occupancy rate of accommodation establishments reached over 83.1%; from the 3rd to the 5th day of Tet (Lunar New Year), many 4-5 star hotels along the coast achieved nearly 100% occupancy. Total tourism revenue is estimated at 2,200 billion VND, an increase of over 62.2%.
Building on that success, Khanh Hoa's tourism industry is confidently aiming for 18.8 million visitors in 2026 (6.3 million international visitors and 12.5 million domestic visitors), generating revenue of 77,000 billion VND. "The tourism business results during the Lunar New Year of the Horse affirm the attractiveness of Khanh Hoa tourism, creating favorable momentum for the industry to strive to achieve this year's goals," affirmed Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
According to a report from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, from February 15th to 21st, the entire province welcomed 320,000 overnight visitors, an increase of nearly 12.3% compared to the same period last year; including 120,000 international visitors, an increase of over 23%, and 200,000 domestic visitors, an increase of nearly 6.7%.
