Opportunities for workers in mountainous regions

The Da Nang Employment Service Center, in coordination with the Criminal Enforcement and Judicial Support Police Department of the city (PC10), recently organized a job fair in Tra Tan commune in 2026, attracting many highland workers seeking employment.

The family of Mr. Ho Van Dac (Ngoc Tu village) lacks arable land, and both husband and wife do not have stable jobs, with their income depending solely on farming, making it very precarious. Meanwhile, Mr. Dac and his wife's two children are about to enter secondary school, requiring significant expenses. After careful consideration, Mr. Dac decided to attend the job fair to find work.

“I researched the recruitment needs of several companies and found that I was suitable for a general labor position. I applied for a construction worker position at Vincons Construction Investment and Development Joint Stock Company with a salary of over 15 million VND/month and will start working at the beginning of June 2026,” Mr. Dac shared.

Similarly, the family of Ms. Dinh Thi Thu (Thang Phuong village) is facing difficulties; their low-income farming work is insufficient to cover living expenses and the education of their two children. Hearing that the local authorities were organizing a job fair, Ms. Thu applied for a position as a garment worker at a company located in Truong Xuan Industrial Park (Tam Ky ward).

“I will be going to Tam Ky to work at the beginning of June 2026, while my husband stays at home to work on the farm and take care of our two children. I hope to stay with this job for a long time to have a stable income and improve our family's life,” Ms. Thu said.

The 2026 job fair in Tra Tan commune features 9 participating businesses offering over 8,000 job positions in various fields: construction, mechanics, electronics, garment manufacturing, and general labor. Notably, many businesses are recruiting large numbers of general laborers and construction workers with high salaries.

For example, Vincons Construction Development and Investment Joint Stock Company is urgently recruiting 6,000 workers to implement the Van Village project in Da Nang, with salaries ranging from 14-33 million VND/month depending on skill level. Dacinco Construction Investment Company Limited is recruiting nearly 900 workers with salaries ranging from 18-28 million VND/month depending on skill level.

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tu, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tra Tan commune, the job fair serves as a bridge to help workers access information about the labor market, vocational training, and employment opportunities both domestically and abroad; opening up opportunities for people in mountainous areas to find suitable jobs, contributing to increased income, stable lives, and sustainable poverty alleviation.

Strengthening the connection between labor supply and demand.

In recent years, the city has paid special attention to job creation and vocational training for workers. After the merger, the city's administrative boundaries expanded, and job creation, especially for rural and mountainous workers, has become even more important.

Recognizing that employment and income are effective solutions for poverty alleviation, the Da Nang Employment Service Center is strengthening coordination with relevant units and localities to bring job fairs closer to workers, especially those from poor and near-poor households, young people, demobilized soldiers, and those reintegrating into the community.

According to a representative from the Da Nang Employment Service Center, in the first four months of the year, the center organized 23 job fairs in the communes of Phu Ninh, Vu Gia, Nong Son, Thanh Binh, Tam Xuan and the wards of Ban Thach and Hai Chau, providing advice to 3,192 workers, of which 1,769 were referred to jobs.

The center organized two job fairs atFPT College and Asia-Europe Career Guidance Joint Stock Company for nearly 500 workers, resulting in job placements for 136 people. Simultaneously, it organized the "Job Fair 2026" at Dong A University with over 3,000 students and workers participating, resulting in job placements for 1,212 people.

According to the Job Placement Department of the Da Nang Employment Service Center, in addition to providing job counseling and placement services for workers in general, the center also focuses on counseling and job placement services, as well as vocational training, for those who have completed their prison sentences and those who have completed drug rehabilitation programs and are reintegrating into the community.

In the first quarter of 2026, the center organized three counseling sessions and job placement services for 144 trainees expected to reintegrate into the community at the city's Drug Rehabilitation Center No. 1; it also coordinated with communes and wards to organize counseling and career guidance sessions for those who have completed their prison sentences, helping to guide these special cases back to the right path.

According to Mr. Huynh Cong Hai, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Employment Service Center, the center aims to provide job counseling and career guidance to 11,000 people in 2026, introduce domestic jobs to 3,500 people, and overseas jobs to 230 workers.

From now until the end of the year, the center will continue to coordinate with relevant units and localities to strengthen the organization of regular job fairs, bringing job placement sessions to remote villages and hamlets in mountainous areas to attract workers and improve the quantity and quality of job placement services.
