Bringing healthcare services to remote villages.

Currently, Thai Nguyen province has 92 commune and ward health stations with 180 service points, which were reorganized from the previous 280 health stations. This streamlining helps concentrate resources, improve the efficiency of grassroots healthcare, and ensure better provision of primary healthcare services.

Dr. Trinh Duc Hieu, from the Ear, Nose, and Throat Department of Thai Nguyen Central Hospital, has been assigned to the Nam Hoa Commune Health Station.

Simultaneously, the healthcare system continued to be strengthened with 33 healthcare institutions, including 26 hospitals and 4 specialized centers. The private healthcare sector also developed strongly with 777 medical practice facilities and 1,701 pharmaceutical businesses.

The health sector has implemented the deployment and rotation of doctors from higher-level facilities to work at health stations, striving for each station to have at least 4 doctors.

The addition of medical staff not only improves the quality of primary healthcare but also enables people, especially those in remote areas, to access healthcare services locally, reducing costs, travel time, and the burden on higher-level facilities.

Furthermore, the reorganization of the healthcare system has enabled health centers to operate more proactively and flexibly. 100% of health centers are now operated as public service units, ensuring the provision of basic and essential healthcare services.

In many mountainous areas, people have gradually developed the habit of seeking initial medical examination and treatment at the commune level.

Despite the achievements, there are still many difficulties, such as the lack of standardized facilities at some health stations, limited information technology infrastructure, and the instability of high-quality human resources.

Bringing healthcare services to remote areas is not only a task for the health sector but also a requirement stemming from development realities. Ensuring that people in all regions have timely and quality access to healthcare services will be a solid foundation for improving the quality of life and ensuring sustainable social security.
