On the morning of January 27th, approximately 9,000 students from high schools across Dong Nai province attended the opening day of the 2024 Exam Season Counseling event, organized by Thanh Nien Newspaper in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Training and the Dong Nai Department of Education and Training. The program was held at Dong Nai University and broadcast live on the website thanhnien.vn, as well as via the Thanh Nien Newspaper's fanpage, YouTube, and TikTok channels.
From early morning, many groups of students arrived to "check in" at the 2024 Exam Season Counseling program at the symbol of Dong Nai University. This year marks the 26th season of the program, continuing its journey to help graduating high school students choose careers and universities before the upcoming high school graduation exam and university entrance exam.
Continuously participating in activities at the booth, Tran Nhu Thao Nguyen (holding the microphone), a student from class 12A1 of Luong The Vinh High School for the Gifted, commented that the event was "extremely exciting and crowded." Standing next to her, Hoang Thi Nam Ninh added: "For me, the exam season counseling session was a useful and fun career guidance event before the new year. Not only did I get to interact with friends from other schools to strengthen solidarity, but the teachers also answered all my questions about the school and the profession in detail," the female student, who plans to apply to study economics, shared.
A few hundred meters away, Vo Nguyen Nhat Huy (holding the microphone, on the left), a student from class 12C1 of Le Quy Don High School - Tan Mai, overcame his fear to register to sing in front of a large group of his peers, and also received detailed advice on the industrial management major he wants to pursue. Meanwhile, Bui Ngoc Khai, standing opposite, had predicted that the exam season counseling event would only attract a few universities and colleges in the province. “But when I came here, I was very surprised to see so many schools in different fields. Not to mention, everyone participated with enthusiasm and a 'fighting spirit' to get into university,” Khai said.
Besides cultural performances, young people also had a blast singing and dancing together to familiar songs and melodies popular with youth.
The excitement of the Exam Season Counseling program reached its peak when generations of students put their hands on each other's shoulders, transforming into a vibrant "train" exploring every aspect of the venue.
A student from Le Quy Don High School (Tan Mai) participated in a quiz with prizes in the format of the "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" program at the Saigon University of Technology booth. Many other activities such as lucky draws, beverage making, calligraphy... at other booths also attracted a large number of students.
To help students better understand their chosen field of study, many educational institutions also organize interactive activities related to the subject, such as experiencing the tea ceremony at the Saigon International University booth, controlling a drone model at the Binh Duong University of Economics and Technology booth, and trying out Meta's VR virtual reality glasses at the FPT University booth...
In addition to participating in experiential activities at the booths, graduating high school students also received detailed advice from teachers and students at universities and colleges about training programs and future career opportunities, spanning a wide range of fields from humanities and social sciences to economics and natural sciences. The consultation desks were always crowded with students asking various questions and expressing different aspirations.

A sea of people filled the opening day of the 2024 Exam Season Counseling event, with a larger-than-usual number of students in attendance. Besides receiving advice from experts from the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training) and various universities, approximately 9,000 students also had the opportunity to watch a performance by singer Lam Phuc – the runner-up of Vietnam Idol 2023.
Following a successful opening day at Dong Nai University, the 2024 Exam Season Counseling event, organized by Thanh Nien Newspaper in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Training and the Binh Duong Department of Education and Training, will continue at the Binh Duong Provincial Convention and Exhibition Center. The program is expected to attract approximately 4,000 students, with the participation of over 30 universities, colleges, and study abroad counseling agencies.
