Racing against time on the Hoai Nhon expressway project.

At dawn, the final section of the Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon expressway construction site was already buzzing with the sound of machinery. After a quick breakfast of bread, the workers of Truong Thinh Group Joint Stock Company embarked on a day of racing against time to increase production output.

Machinery from Truong Thinh Group Joint Stock Company has been increased to accelerate the progress of the Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon expressway.

At 6 a.m., from a distance, a series of trucks carrying K95 soil lined up along National Highway 19 through An Nhon town, Binh Dinh province, turning to dump their loads on the main road. Behind them, two bulldozers arrived to push the soil blocks out and spread them evenly on the surface. Three rollers continued their work, compacting the soil layers until the required density was achieved.

Work on the construction site was coordinated smoothly, layer after layer of soil being laid skillfully. By nearly noon, hundreds of meters of road surface had been filled with K95 soil meeting the required standards.

Mr. Phan Dinh Quy, Executive Officer of Truong Thinh Group, said that on the Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon expressway, Truong Thinh Group Joint Stock Company is responsible for the construction of nearly 6km under package 12-XL (Km64+220 to Km70+091).

Within the assigned area, the unit is currently mobilizing approximately 200 workers, divided into 4 main roadbed construction teams and several other teams working on items such as bridges and culverts.

"The progress of the unit's assigned portion is meeting the requirements. To date, the K95 earth embankment project has reached 80%. To accelerate progress before the upcoming rainy season, we are applying a phased construction method."

"Specifically for the section from Km65 to Km67, the K95 embankment has been completed, and we will then reinforce the K98 embankment with additional equipment. For these 2km, we expect to complete the K98 embankment in 7-10 days. Once the requirements are met, we will proceed with laying the crushed stone base immediately," Mr. Quy shared.

Phuc Loc Group Joint Stock Company is working at night to ensure the project's progress.

Not far from there, the section from Km50+465 to Km57+460, part of package 12-XL, is being constructed by Phuc Loc Group Joint Stock Company with hundreds of workers.

Mr. Mai Huy Cu, Deputy Executive Director of Phuc Loc Group Joint Stock Company, said that the contractor has currently laid two layers of crushed stone for nearly 5km.

"Not only are workers working during the day, but taking advantage of the sunny weather, we're also having them work at night. We're making the most of every day and every hour to push the project forward, even as the rainy season is approaching," Mr. Cu shared.

Prepare machinery to clear waterways in case of heavy rain and flooding.

According to Mr. Mai Huy Cu, in parallel with the urgent construction work to catch up on the schedule before the rainy season, the unit has also planned to ensure safety when storms and floods arrive.

"A flood response and safety command center will be established at the construction site. It will be determined that 100% of staff and workers will be on duty at the construction site throughout the days of flooding and storms."

Currently, the embankment of the K98 road has been completed, so protecting the slope is very important. The unit is actively laying paving slabs and leveling the slope to plant grass to protect the embankment. Dozens of long-boom excavators have also been mobilized, ready to clear waterways when floods arrive to protect the completed work," Mr. Cu said.

Contractors are accelerating the construction of bridges and culverts along the route to facilitate flood drainage as the rainy season approaches.

A representative from Phuc Loc Group Joint Stock Company added that their company has five bridges under construction, including Suoi Duc Bridge and Suoi Cham Bridge, which are over streams. Construction of bridge decks and railings is underway at these bridges, ensuring completion before the rainy season to maintain unobstructed water flow and prevent flooding that could affect the structures.

According to Project Management Board 85 ( Ministry of Transport ), across the entire Hoai Nhon – Quy Nhon expressway project, contractors are mobilizing 103 construction teams with 637 pieces of equipment and 1,355 personnel. Cumulative output to date has reached over 3,900 billion VND, equivalent to more than 51% of the contract value, 0.24% ahead of the approved schedule.

"In response to the approaching floods, the investor has also requested the contractor to implement various solutions and expedite construction to speed up important items, making up for the time lost due to storms, especially bridges and culverts along the route to ensure smooth water flow," a representative of Project Management Board 85 informed.

The Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon expressway is over 70km long, passing through Binh Dinh province, with a total investment of over 12,400 billion VND, and is managed by Project Management Board 85 (Ministry of Transport). Package 11-XL is being constructed by Truong Son Construction Corporation.

Package 12-XL is being constructed by a consortium comprising: Son Hai Group Co., Ltd., Phuc Loc Group Joint Stock Company, Construction Corporation No. 8, Truong Thinh Group Joint Stock Company, and 471 Joint Stock Company.
