Miss Ha Truc Linh: 'Don't hesitate to challenge yourself during your youth'

Speaking at the Miss Vietnam 2026 recruitment event atFPT University Can Tho on the afternoon of May 26th, Ha Truc Linh said that for her, the term of Miss Vietnam is not measured in numbers. While the term of each Miss Vietnam winner over the past 38 years has always been two years, for Truc Linh it's only one year.
"I think that if the term of office is only measured by numbers, it doesn't truly reflect the journey of learning and growth. Because the journey before, during, and after the coronation, the daily learning will add value to life. Every step of the way, every person, every challenge leaves me with valuable lessons and accumulates more experience for life. I deeply cherish the journey I've just had," she said.
For Truc Linh, her reign was short but very special as she was crowned on the Perfume River in Hue city.
"This is something I've always dreamed of. This journey has opened up many firsts for me, like my first time flying on an airplane and visiting new places," she shared.
She believes that students should find opportunities for learning, development, and building relationships for themselves. "The Miss Vietnam organizing committee will always guide and support you, helping to make your youthful journey more meaningful," the beauty queen stated.
Truc Linh believes that the common mindset among students participating in major competitions is anxiety about not having enough skills and knowledge to participate.
"I used to think that way too, but what motivated me was realizing this was a great opportunity to experience and grow. Challenges will help me discover the good and beautiful aspects of life. Just do it, don't hesitate to try new things in your youth," Truc Linh said.
Beauty queen Huyen Co: 'Don't wait until you're perfect to start'

Through this recruitment program, beauty queen Huyen Co wants to send a message to female students: don't wait until you're perfect to start.
"More than a year ago, I was just a 22-year-old student, energetic and ambitious, but also full of fears. I worried that I wasn't perfect enough, not good enough, that I still had many shortcomings and couldn't meet the requirements set by the organizers," she said.
Huyen Co realized that the most regrettable thing wasn't failure, but the fact that she had never dared to try. "So, I bravely registered for the competition. After overcoming my initial fear, I felt very comfortable," Huyen Co shared.
Huyen Co believes that if she hadn't registered for the Miss Vietnam pageant that day, she would have stayed home on the final night watching the contestants shine on television and regretting that she might have been one of them.
"Therefore, I encourage you to be bold in starting, bold in registering and experiencing it so that you won't have to say 'if only' later," she said.
Huyen Co feels fortunate to have had such a memorable journey at Miss Vietnam 2024 with the organizing committee, Miss Truc Linh, and all the contestants. Throughout that journey, she learned a lot from the organizing committee members, from her fellow contestants, and especially from her own shortcomings.
"I think that when I have areas for improvement and receive feedback from others, it's an opportunity to remember things better and learn more valuable lessons. Those experiences have helped me grow a lot," Huyen Co said.
Furthermore, what she cherished most after the competition was the deep bond between the organizers and the contestants, not only during the competition but also afterward. They all shared a common goal: to spread many positive and humane values to the community and society.
