This event serves as a bridge for the two localities to showcase the tourism potential and strengths of Lang Son province; thereby attracting tourism and travel businesses nationwide to invest in building and developing tourism products, tours, and routes in an effective, sustainable manner that suits the local situation and future tourist trends.

Lang Son province presented its tourism development situation, highlighting its prominent tourist attractions and tangible and intangible cultural heritage. Lang Son, a mountainous province in the Northeast, is a gateway and frontier region of the country with a long history of formation and development, along with a rich traditional culture and revolutionary heritage.

At the destination introduction event, Lang Son boldly showcased the distinctive cultural values of its ethnic groups: Nung, Tay, Kinh, Dao, Mong, Hoa, San Chay, etc., creating a land with rich ethnic cultural identity, unique festivals, and captivating folk songs like then, sli, and luon, all harmoniously blended with the majestic and poetic natural landscape of the mountains. The flute playing of artist Xuan Tu, clear and elegant, yet imbued with the vastness and grandeur of the mountains, was a highlight. Lang Son also presented the Mother Goddess worship – a popular folk religious practice of the Vietnamese people, recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity – to potential tourists in the sunny and windy city of Phan Thiet. This distinctive cultural image may be familiar or unfamiliar, as it's often promoted on social media platforms. However, at this event, Lang Son presented a cultural space rich in identity through a performance of Chau Van (a traditional Vietnamese folk singing style): "Gia Chau Be Bac Le in the mountains and forests," a style deeply ingrained in the spiritual and cultural life of the people of Lang Son.

Mr. Luu Ba Mac, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lang Son province, said that Lang Son aims to become one of the key tourism destinations in the northern mountainous region by 2025, with distinctive and competitive tourism products. Lang Son tourism will leverage its traditional culture to guide visitors to a land rich in historical, cultural, and spiritual values; with unique intangible cultural heritage forms, including over 280 festivals, many of which have been included in the national list of intangible cultural heritage and recognized by UNESCO as representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity… In addition, Lang Son is blessed with diverse and abundant natural resources such as caves, rivers, lakes, ecosystems, a mild climate, and many historical sites and scenic spots such as Nhi Thanh, Tam Thanh, Mac Dynasty Citadel, Nang To Thi Mountain, Mau Son Mountain…

According to Ms. Tran Thi Bich Hanh, Director of the Lang Son Tourism Promotion Information Center, in addition to its strong point of border trade tourism, Lang Son is promoting the development of community-based cultural tourism and aiming to build a rural tourism group. Currently, four strengths help Lang Son leave a lasting impression on tourists: its rich cultural identity; its distinctive cuisine; its beautiful nature; and its safety, friendliness, and hospitality. These are also major advantages that can create differentiation, unique tourism products, and a competitive edge, building a brand for Lang Son province's tourism.

Mr. Luu Ba Mac shared: “To achieve that goal, Lang Son has been implementing synchronized orientations and solutions such as continuing to supplement and improve mechanisms and policies, creating a favorable environment for tourism development; developing tourism infrastructure; building diverse, unique tourism products with high economic value, reflecting the cultural identity of ethnic groups, creating a competitive advantage domestically and internationally; strengthening linkages and cooperation in tourism development…”

Many travel and tourism companies in Binh Thuan have shown great interest in learning about and developing plans to open tours and routes during the most beautiful seasons of the year in Lang Son. In fact, the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of localities, if seriously recognized and appreciated, will be a leverage contributing to the development of tourism. Any locality developing tourism needs serious strategies for preservation, restoration, and recreation to bring regional cultural values to a wide range of domestic and international tourists. Not only Lang Son, but many other provinces and cities can also exploit, select, and promote the traditional culture of ethnic groups and distinctive intangible cultural heritage to boost local tourism.
