Scoring past goalkeeper Yann Sommer in the 76th minute, Erling Haaland set a record as the first Premier League player to score 45 goals in all competitions in a season.
The Norwegian striker broke the previous record of 44 goals set by Mohamed Salah for Liverpool (2017/18 season) and Ruud van Nistelrooy for Man Utd (2002/03 season).
In this season's Champions League, Erling Haaland is leading the "Top scorer" list, having scored 11 goals in just 9 matches.
The 22-year-old striker is also the "Top scorer" in the Premier League, having contributed 30 goals for the Etihad Stadium team.
According to Mirror , Haaland's goal was a typical "poacher's" strike.
Former Leeds United striker Lucy Ward commented: "A really, really good goal from Manchester City. It was a clever header from Stones.
It went across and he wasn't offside, I think that's something the Bayern players didn't take into account. Clever header and we knew Haaland would 'finish' them.
He kept his patience, Haaland got the assist and now he has his own goal."
With a 3-goal lead after the first leg, Man City will comfortably enter the second leg next week.
