Estevao makes history, Chelsea thrashes Ajax.

Estevao set a new record for Chelsea, contributing to The Blues' 5-1 victory over Ajax in the third matchday of the 2025/26 Champions League qualifying round.

The match between Chelsea and Ajax quickly heated up with several controversial incidents. In the 15th minute, Ajax midfielder Kenneth Taylor made a dangerous tackle that prompted the referee to consult VAR.

After reviewing the video footage, the initial yellow card was replaced with a direct red card in the 17th minute, leaving Ajax playing with ten men from very early on.

Taking advantage of their numerical superiority, Chelsea quickly pressed their opponents and unleashed a flurry of goals. Just a minute later, Marc Guiu easily tapped the ball into the net from close range after a header from Wesley Fofana, giving the home team a 1-0 lead.

With this goal, Marc Guiu, at the age of 19, became the youngest player in Chelsea's history to score in the UEFA Champions League.

In the 27th minute, Moises Caicedo's long-range shot inadvertently deflected off an Ajax defender, leaving goalkeeper Remko Pasveer completely helpless.

Ajax seemed on the verge of collapse, but Wout Weghorst unexpectedly shone with a beautiful angled shot, reducing the deficit to 1-2 in the 33rd minute.

However, Chelsea quickly responded with a goal from Enzo Fernandez in the 45th minute and a goal from Estevao in injury time (45+6), ending the first half with a 4-1 lead.

The Brazilian striker broke the record previously set by his teammate Marc Guiu, becoming the youngest player in Chelsea history to score in the UEFA Champions League at the age of 18.

In the second half, Chelsea maintained their dominance. In the 48th minute, young player Tyrique George unleashed a shot from the edge of the penalty area; the ball deflected off a defender's leg, sealing a 5-1 victory for "The Blues".

The remainder of the match was merely a formality, as coach Enzo Maresca's team calmly controlled possession and conserved the energy of their key players.
