EVNCPC proactively cuts off power due to floods

ĐNO - In the face of prolonged heavy rains causing widespread flooding in many localities in the Central and Central Highlands regions, by the morning of November 17, the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) proactively stopped supplying power to nearly 31,000 customers to ensure people's safety and the operation of the power system.

In Da Nang city, heavy rain and local flooding affected 12,305 customers and 323 transformer stations. Dak Lak province had 1,504 customers and 18 distribution stations temporarily cut off power supply due to flooding. In Khanh Hoa, Khanh Hoa Electricity Company was forced to cut off the entire Du Long Industrial Park station, affecting the operations of 5 businesses in the area.

In Gia Lai province, 2,363 customers and 32 transformer stations have not been able to restore power because many areas are still flooded. In Quang Tri, floods have affected 2,768 customers. and 45 distribution stations Power outage. Hue city alone was the most severely affected area with 11,989 customers. and 65 distribution stations had to be laid off to avoid incidents.

Other areas have not yet had to cut off power due to flooding. However, EVNCPC said the electricity sector is still on duty 24/7, closely monitoring the development of floods and will proactively cut off power as soon as a safety risk arises, to protect people and equipment, and minimize damage caused by natural disasters.
