DNO - Faced with prolonged heavy rains causing widespread flooding in many localities in Central and Central Highlands regions, by the morning of November 17th, the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) had proactively suspended power supply to nearly 31,000 customers to ensure the safety of people's lives and the operation of the power system.

In Da Nang city, heavy rain and localized flooding affected 12,305 customers and 323 substations. In Dak Lak province, 1,504 customers and 18 distribution substations had to temporarily cease power supply due to flooding. In Khanh Hoa, Khanh Hoa Power Company was forced to completely shut down the Du Long Industrial Park substation, affecting the operations of 5 businesses in the area.

In Gia Lai province, 2,363 customers and 32 substations still have not had their electricity restored due to flooding in many areas. In Quang Tri, floods affected 2,768 customers. and 45 distribution stations Power outages occurred. Hue City was the most severely affected area, with 11,989 customers impacted. And 65 distribution stations had to be shut down to avoid incidents.

Other areas have not yet experienced power outages due to flooding. However, EVNCPC stated that the power sector is on 24/7 standby, closely monitoring the flood situation and will proactively cut off power immediately upon any safety risks, in order to protect people and equipment and minimize damage caused by the natural disaster.
