Around 10:20 PM on March 5th, many Facebook users in Vietnam were suddenly unable to use the Facebook social network.
This incident is not unique to Vietnam; it is happening globally.
According to Downdetector , a website that tracks social media health, more than 100,000 users worldwide have reported issues with the Facebook social media platform.
Many users have reported that this issue affects both the Facebook platform and the Messenger messaging app. The problem is present on both web and mobile platforms.

According to our reporter's observations, the problem wasn't limited to Facebook; it affected a number of other Meta platforms, including the Messenger messaging app, Instagram, and Threads.
Some Instagram users have reported that their news feeds are unable to refresh even though they have an internet connection.
On social media platform X, the hashtags "#instagramdown" and "#facebookdown" quickly became trending and received a lot of attention.
Meta's stock fell more than 1%.
"We understand people are experiencing difficulties accessing our services. We are working to fix the issue right now," Andy Stone, a spokesperson for Meta, shared in a social media post.
In addition, many TikTok and YouTube users have reported connection issues, being unable to watch videos on these two platforms. According to Downdetector, most users are experiencing connection errors to the servers. The problem has been reported on both the web and app platforms.
A reporter from Dan Tri newspaper is contacting Facebook's representative in Vietnam to discuss the incident.
Facebook was back online around 11:20 PM. Currently, Facebook has not provided any explanation for the cause of the outage.
